"According to the guidelines of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the organization "strongly opposes" any birth not performed inside a hospital. A spokesman for the ACOG has a one-word assessment of freebirth: "dangerous."
I have just one message for these doctors, and it is this:
"The moral of the proverb is counsel to prove your trustworthiness with your own affairs before attempting to tell others what they should do."

When the various obstetrics societies PROVE that they have the will to reform themselves internally by setting up standards of care that are more about the mother and the baby than they are about the doctor and staff at the hospital, then I will feel more open about listening to any edicts they have about my lifestyle.
Hey Doctors: why don't you set some goals....
1. No inductions before 41 weeks
2. 10% C-section rate
3. No elective C-sections
4. Full acceptance of Lay and Nurse Midwifery both in the home and at the hospital
5. A Complete and total acceptance of VBAC (Vaginal Birth after Cesarean)
6. A willingness to embrace proper prenatal nutrition as the foundation for a healthy pregnancy as outlined by the Brewer Pregnancy Diet
When society stops locking up our midwives for bogus reasons, embrace and promote natural mothering as the IDEAL for a new baby (Natural Childbirth, Attachment Parenting, and Long Term Ecological Breastfeeding), then I will believe you have found your soul as doctors.
Until then? Well, I am going to continue promoting freebirth and encouraging families to break away from your way of giving birth, because frankly, the way you do it stinks.

Psychiatric frauds continue to be exposed!
This morning I received an Email from Ann Blake Tracy at the Center for Drug Awareness. She told me about this new Fox News report by Douglas Kennedy.
Here is a link to the article in the Wall Street Journal mentioned in the piece.
Then later in the morning I was flipping channels and watched this scientology hit job on EXTRA, can't find the video yet, but I have watched so many of these the past few years, you know the sort, using every television trick possible to make Scientology and anyone who believes in it to be a nut job or worse. It always cracks me up to watch these shows and then see the commercials come on....the little Zoloft bubble, etc...They should just say at the beginning of the show, This segment brought to you by Eli Lily.
Anyway, here is a video of Cruise talking to Matt Lauer about Psychiatry. I completely endorse and applaud him for his education, passion, and willingness to take on this most powerful entity.
My regular readers know that I suffered a post partum psychosis after the birth of my first baby and then was hospitalized for six weeks. I was court ordered to eat psychiatric meds for fourteen months, and in the past 18 years I have given birth to four additional children and have not taken one pill for mental illness. Alternative healing restored my brain and has given me a measure of wellness that I once believed would be impossible to achieve.

Tom Cruise is right about Psychiatry:
Although psychiatry is the smallest faction within the health care industry, authorities have estimated that psychiatric fraud accounts for 20 percent of fraudulent health care claims paid annually. This places the annual cost of psychiatric fraud in the tens of billions, ranging up to $40 billion per year, as described at the start of this article.
Investigators routinely find psychiatrists responsible for a disproportionate share of the fraud and corruption within the health care industry.
As far back as 1985, a U.S. Justice Department probe found that while psychiatrists represented only 8 percent of the physicians in the country, they accounted for 18 percent of the crooked doctors suspended from Medicaid programs over a 15-year period -- the worst performance of any group in the medical field.
Crimes included charging for therapy when they had only doled out drugs; billing for patients who did not exist; falsely billing for up to 24 hours of therapy per day; and having sex with patients and billing the government for their lust.
Florida Medicare investigators found that 40 percent of all mental health outpatient service billings in 1994 were fraudulent.
And if fines collected by the federal government are an index, psychiatry is responsible for nearly 90 percent of the health care fraud in the United States. Of the $411 million paid in health-care-related fines in 1994, $379 million were paid by psychiatric hospitals.

Actor Tom Cruise created quite a stir on June 25 when he called psychiatry a "pseudoscience," asserted a chemical basis for Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder doesn't exist, and said that anti-depressant drugs masked problems-in-living. He used the actress Brooke Shields as a case in point, citing her postpartum depression, engendering a fair amount of hostility from those who disagreed with him, including Ms. Shields. The New York Times published her rejoinder on July 1. Cruise was criticized by psychiatric apologists and sycophants as irresponsible and dangerous for speaking his mind -- and the truth.
A lot of people seem to have misunderstood what Tom Cruise said. It is not necessarily the case that he's a Scientology-brainwashed wacko, or that his ideas about psychiatry even came from the Church of Scientology. Cruise learned a lot about psychiatry from the writings of psychiatric abolitionist Thomas Szasz. Throughout the world, Szasz is considered an intellectual heavyweight, someone whose ideas about medicine, disease, science, liberty and responsibility should be taken seriously.

In the fight against cervical cancer, Merck is overwhelmingly winning the war against cancer.
Eight girls who were injected with that nasty cocktail of chemicals NEVER have to worry about getting that form of CANCER.
Why?
Because they are DEAD!!!
Anyone checked recently to see how much money Merck has made off the pelvic goldmine around this current vaccine scam? I'm too lazy to go look it up....but I think we can safely guess it is in the hundreds of millions.

Specifically Judicial Watch wanted access to correspondence between Merck and the FDA regarding the vaccine, communications between the FDA and GlaxoSmithKline, which is working on a similar vaccine, called Cervarix, and reports by consumers, health professionals and others regarding problems with the HPV vaccine.
When the organization's investigation into the HPV vaccine issue arose, and the first reports starting coming in, Fitton described it as "a catalog of horrors."
One earlier report, No. 275438-1, describes the reaction as coronary artery thrombosis, sudden cardiac death. "Given Gardasil vaccine dose #1 3/12/07. Collapsed and died on 3/26/07… Echocardiogram revealed very enlarged right ventricle, small left ventricle as well as large blood clots within both the right atrium & right ventricle."
Another report noted that the woman was vaccinated and "died of a blood clot 8 hours after getting the Gardasil vaccine."
Officials with the Abstinence Clearinghouse noted in a position paper that groups including the Texas Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Academy of Environmental Medicine have come out publicly against mandatory vaccination.
"The reasoning of these medical associations is clear. They are not opposed to medical progress, and certainly support all efforts to combat life-threatening diseases. The problem, as these organizations see it, lies in the fact that the drug only went through three and a half years of testing, leaving the medical community somewhat in the dark as to what serious adverse effects might result in the long term," the group said.
"Along with the potential of serious adverse effects is the question of efficacy. There is evidence that after approximately four years, the vaccine's potency significantly declines. The long-term value of the vaccine has yet to be determined; if it wears off within six years, will girls and women need to repeat the battery of injections they originally received?" the organization wondered.
Michigan was the first state to introduce a plan to require the vaccine to be given to young girls, but the proposal failed. Ohio also considered a failed plan in 2006.
Then in 2007, after Merck's aggressive lobbying campaign and contributions to Women in Government, lawmakers in at least 39 states and the District of Columbia worked on sponsoring such plans."

Anti Depressants Kill Too!
In 2002, Fox National News reported Douglas Kennedy exposed the link between
psychiatric drugs and school shootings.
In September 2005, following confirmation that Red Lake Indian Reservation
school shooter, Jeff Weise, was under the influence of the antidepressant
Prozac, the National Foundation of Women Legislators, together with American
Indian tribal leaders, called for a Congressional investigation into the
correlation between psychiatric drug use and school massacres. Congress has yet to investigate the role of psychiatric drugs relating to school shootings despite international drug regulators warning these drugs
can cause mania, psychosis, hallucinations, suicide and homicidal ideation.
At least eight of the recent school shooters were under the influence of such drugs, and according to media reports, investigators working on the Virginia Tech school shootings, Cho Seung-Hui may also have been taking
drugs for "depression."

"The number of treatments in California -- one of the few states that have mandatory reporting -- increased from about 13,000 to more than 20,000 between 1994 and 2004. Although the District, Maryland and Virginia do not require such reporting, Johns Hopkins Hospital treats about 125 people with ECT annually, a number that has not changed much recently, according to Irving Reti, head of Hopkins's ECT unit; at Sheppard Pratt outside Baltimore, ECT physician Jack Vaeth says his service does about 60 treatments a week, an increase over the past decade.
While no one fully understands why ECT works, many psychiatrists believe that using an electric current to produce a "grand mal" -- or generalized brain -- seizure can "reboot" the brain when medications and psychotherapy fail. Just last week, a commentary in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) suggested that, despite its demonstrated effectiveness, ECT remains underused, primarily because of its stigmatized history."
Stigmatized history? Or the fact that it erases the memories of those who use it???
Sure you are not depressed anymore, we just turned your brain to mush and gellied up your tissues. You can't even remember who you are!!! But it was worth it because you are not depressed!!! What a load, this treatment should be BANNED!!!
I remember telling one of my therapists a few years ago that electroshock was on the upswing and he told me that I was wrong, it had been banned worldwide because it was ineffective. But the psychiatrists just keep on keepin on with failed treatments. Makes lots of money and shuts up those awful patients.
Wether you get a surgical lobotomy (which are also on the upswing, they just changed the name to cingulotomy, a chemical Lobotomy, or an electro lobotomy, the effect on the brain is the same. Major amounts of brain damage.
Recently a somewhat honest hearted psychiatrist made some public comments about his profession.
He said:
A Psychiatrist Airs His Professional Doubts
"Did you ever stop to wonder or ask yourself 'what am I doing?' I did and in many ways I wish I had not. As a Psychiatrist, I still do not know what our profession is trying to do. It seems we have a series of solutions and now we are trying to find the problems that they can solve. My observations are either anecdotal or part of research that I have done as a Psychiatric Auditor and are based on my 38 years experience in the field of Psychiatry.
Psychiatrists are treating two major populations: Adults and Juveniles. These populations are further subdivided into severe and mild disturbances.
I am not a Juvenile Psychiatrist, but I speak from impressions and my readings in the field. There is nothing more heart breaking than the severely mentally ill juvenile. We have increased our arsenal of medications, but in results and understanding, compared to other medical professions, our success rate is poor. Prevention is a distant dream.
The mildly mentally ill juveniles are a cause of concern to me. Psychiatry has waltzed into learning disorders with the crusading gusto that only psychiatrists seem to have. We are witnessing the 'medicinization' of a former outlawed drug. The criteria for using Ritalin far too often go unmet. There is no doubt in my mind that children that would not be given Ritalin by experts in the field are receiving it. No one can say with honesty and certainty what the effect of Ritalin use in juveniles will have on their brains as they age. Yet the Ritalin pushers have an almost messianic fervor for their 'solution'.
In the adult population, generally speaking, the influence of the Drug Companies is terrifying. Very few research projects disprove the efficacy of a drug when the trial is sponsored by the drug's manufacturer. Harmful facts that may be discovered are not disclosed. When they are, their importance and significance are downplayed. For example, one of the major, popular, new anti psychotic drugs actively and substantially increases the risk factors for heart attacks or CVAs. In all the adult population the major medical goal is to reduce these risk factors. Only severely mentally ill psychiatric patients are the exception.
It has been shown that after 10 years of illness a psychotic not taking medications is four times more likely to be symptom free than one that is taking medications. Read that again. You would expect the complete opposite. In spite of the hype, the quality of life in patients using the older medications are better than the new. So we are paying more, endangering more and getting less. Not very impressive is it?"
I appreciate his honesty, and wish more psychiatrists had the guts to do some introspection, you would think they would be the most honest in terms of "ANALYZING" themselves as a profession. But no, fearfully and sadly, many do not take the time to question all of the drug reps in the office, the perks, and the money rolling in earned off the tortured minds of the mentally ill. Here is a critique I wrote of a very pompous edict from the President of the APA a couple of years ago. He was publicly questioning certain practices in the profession.
I am a perfect example of someone who has healed holisticaly after psychosis. I had a post partum psychosis after the birth of my first babe, and was forced by the courts to take toxic drugs for 14 months. Then I went completely the other direction and used Sunriders Chinese Herbs, Nutrition, Shaklee Foods, and spent thousands of hours reading about the history of psychiatry, and quickly realized that a debate was raging and I was in the middle of it.
Since those days in 1989-90 when I was forced to eat toxic chemicals to make the chemicals in my brain "all better", I have not taken ONE PILL in the intervening years. Not one.
And I have given birth to four additional children.
I shudder to think what my life would have been like had I been on psychiatric meds for the past 16 years.

suicide, violence and mass murder
"From Columbine to Virginia Tech, every time another headline-making mass murderer is discovered to have taken antidepressants or other psychiatric drugs, rumors and speculation abound regarding the possible connection between the medications and the violence.
Now, reports the July 2007 edition of WND's elite monthly Whistleblower magazine, the time for speculation and guessing is over. The evidence is overwhelming and irrefutable, says Whistleblower's groundbreaking investigative report: Mood-altering psychiatric drugs – taken every day by tens of millions of Americans, including millions of children – actually can push some users over the edge into mania, suicide and horrific violence.
The issue is titled "MANIA: The shocking truth about psychiatric drugs and their link to suicide, violence and mass murder."
To begin with, many of the most notorious mass killers in recent memory have been on, or just coming off, prescription mood-altering drugs. Remember these headline names?
Andrea Yates, in one of the most heartbreaking crimes in modern history, drowned all five of her children – aged 7 years down to 6 months – in a bathtub. Insisting inner voices commanded her to kill her kids, she had become increasingly psychotic over the course of several years.
Yates had been taking the antidepressant Effexor. In November 2005, more than four years after Yates drowned her children, Effexor manufacturer Wyeth Pharmaceuticals quietly added "homicidal ideation" to the drug's list of "rare adverse events." But "rare" is defined by the FDA as occurring in less than one in 1,000 people. And since, according to an Associated Press report, about 19.2 million prescriptions for Effexor were filled in the U.S. alone in 2005, that means statistically almost 20,000 Americans could experience "homicidal ideation" – that is, murderous thoughts – as a result of taking just this one antidepressant drug.
Columbine mass-killer Eric Harris was taking the widely prescribed antidepressant Luvox when he and fellow student Dylan Klebold went on a hellish school shooting rampage in 1999, killing 12 students and a teacher and wounding 24 others before turning their guns on themselves.
Luvox manufacturer Solvay Pharmaceuticals concedes that 4 percent of children and youth taking Luvox developed "mania" – a serious mental derangement characterized by extreme excitement and delusion – during short-term controlled clinical trials.
Authorities investigating Cho Seung-Hui, who murdered 32 at Virginia Tech in April, reportedly found "prescription drugs" for the treatment of psychological problems among his possessions. Joseph Aust, Cho's roommate, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch Cho's routine each morning had included taking prescription drugs.
So what kind of meds had Cho been taking? Strangely, his medical records have yet to be released to the public – authorities claiming it's because an investigation is still ongoing, although critics suggest the purpose may be to protect the drug companies from liability claims.
Meanwhile, the list of killers who happened to be taking psychiatric medications is long and chilling. Remember these headline names?
Patrick Purdy's 1989 schoolyard shooting rampage in Stockton, Calif., was the catalyst for the legislative frenzy to ban "semiautomatic assault weapons" in California and the nation. The 25-year-old Purdy, who murdered five children and wounded 30, had been on Amitriptyline, an antidepressant, as well as the antipsychotic drug Thorazine.
Kip Kinkel, 15, murdered his parents in 1998 and the next day went to his school, Thurston High in Springfield, Ore., and opened fire on his classmates, killing two and wounding 22 others. He had been prescribed both Prozac and Ritalin.
In 1988, 31-year-old Laurie Dann went on a shooting rampage in a second-grade classroom in Winnetka, Ill., killing one child and wounding six. She had been taking the antidepressant Anafranil as well as Lithium, long used to treat mania.
All very interesting, you may be thinking, but what do the drug companies say in their defense?
One of the most widely prescribed antidepressants today is Paxil, manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline.
Paxil's known "adverse drug reactions" – according to the drug's own 2001 FDA-approved label – include "mania," "insomnia," "anxiety," "agitation," "confusion," "amnesia," "depression," "paranoid reaction," "psychosis," "hostility," "delirium," "hallucinations," "abnormal thinking," "depersonalization" and "lack of emotion," among others.
With a rap sheet like that, no wonder pharmaceutical companies are nervous about liability lawsuits over the "rare adverse effects" of their medications. In 1998, for example, GlaxoSmithKline was ordered to pay $6.4 million to Donald Schnell's surviving family members after the 60-year-old man, just two days after taking Paxil, murdered his wife, daughter and granddaughter in a fit of rage.
But reporting the truth about the relationship between psychiatric medications and mass murderers is just the beginning. "MANIA" also reveals clear and compelling evidence that psychiatric drugs hurt children physically – causing shrinkage of their brains, damage to their hearts and other significant effects.
Perhaps even more disconcerting, "MANIA" exposes the federal government's bizarre preoccupation with screening all American school kids to see if they're mentally ill – a process that often leads directly to a prescription for mood-altering drugs for the child who didn't answer the questions properly.
"The problem," said David Kupelian, managing editor of WND and Whistleblower, "is that many Americans don't exactly trust the federal government to determine what constitutes 'mental health.'" Incredibly, as this issue reveals, there is even a government effort to proclaim an infant-and-toddler mental health crisis!

I'm wondering when the MSM is going to have the guts to take on this huge story.... (I don't agree with everything in this documentary, but the population control information during the last hour is spot on, and fits with many other things I have researched) The whole movie is compelling. As always one of the best ways to fight those who would seek power over our lives is to educate yourself towards medical self sufficiency and give birth at home alone, and then keep your kids away from doctors and fight every day to make a good marriage and family life for your loved ones.

The Spiritual Nature of Prescription Drugs

“Just say no to drugs.” How many times have people heard this advice, yet still think nothing of going to the local pharmacy to pick up their drug prescriptions?
Drugs have become so mainstream; North America is awash in a sea of drugs, both legal and illegal. Prescription drugs have become so prevalent; traces of them are now showing up in the food chain and in our drinking water.1
What perhaps is most astounding is the number of people who die every year from adverse reactions to prescription drugs. The tally is so high, USA Today listed adverse drug reactions as the 4th leading cause of mortality on their list of Top Ten Killers in the USA.2
With such a record, the pharmaceutical industry (and the medical profession which prescribes drugs) would be considered criminal by any other civilized standard. However, prescription drugs are not only legal, they are encouraged by both modern medicine, and the Christian Church in the U.S.A.
That’s interesting because the Bible, the standard by which Christians live their lives, condemns the everyday use of any kind of drugs, potions, or spells, as well as poisoning or witchcraft. It’s called pharmakeia in the original text and can be found in Galatians 5:19-21.
When confronted with the teaching that God condemns pharmakeia, most Christians believe the Apostle Paul had to be referring to illegal drugs (like marijuana and heroin), when he wrote his letter to the Church at Galatia, surely not prescription drugs. They are at least right about the first part.
Narcotics and hallucinogenic drugs were not uncommon in 1st century AD. For instance, the Oracles of Delphi apparently used Datura, a kind of Jimson plant that contained powerful alkaloids, during their quests for visions.
So Christians have no trouble in defining pharmakeia within the parameter of mind altering or hallucinogenic drugs. It’s with the legal drugs that many Christians fail to see a dangerous and sinister spiritual connection.
In fact: If Christians were as much concerned about taking prescription drugs as they are about their children getting involved with illegal drugs, there would be far fewer deaths. That’s because deaths from adverse prescription drug reactions are many times greater then deaths caused by illegal drugs. As a matter of fact, deaths caused by illegal drugs did not muster up the numbers even to make the top ten killers list from USA Today. Yet many Christians fret over the latter (as though they are a scourge, and they are), while overlooking the physical and spiritual danger of the former.
Many Christians think legal drugs are different because they are part of our medical system. Simply said, they trust anyone wearing white robes to prescribe and dispense drugs. They do so without understanding that everything about the pharmaceutical industry violates the spiritual foundational truth and teaching of God.
There are many reasons why God condemns pharmakeia. Perhaps the primary reason is that God calls Himself Jehovah-rapha, God our Healer (Exodus 15:26). He wants us to look to Him for healing (to make us whole), because only He and what He has provided to us for healing can heal. King David acknowledged this foundational truth when he wrote:
Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits-- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion…Psalm 103:2-4
When Christians place dependency on drugs, they unknowingly deny God the glory and the ability to heal them. I know this is a hard word of knowledge for many to accept, because many Christians depend on drugs. But they do so only because they do not see God in their heart and mind as their Healer. They think the age of divine healing is over, so their faith for healing is now bound to a lie (a work of the flesh) called pharmakeia.
God is a jealous God. So when we place our dependency in anything other than in God, we are in effect, turning our backs to Him. We are saying, “God is not sufficient for me. He cannot or will not heal me.”
That’s not to say we shouldn’t seek medical help from a physician. The problem, however, is most physicians are secular and know only pharmakeia, surgery and radiation. They do not know Yehovah-rapha or the healing provision He placed in the plant kingdom for our health and well-being. But in most cases it’s not the physician’s fault. Physicians only know to treat patients according to the modality they were taught.
God’s Word tells us, “Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits” (I John 4:1). And again, “Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil” (I Thessalonians 5:21-22)
If drugs actually worked and healed people, without killing or hospitalizing many of those who take them, you wouldn’t be reading this article. But drugs do not heal. They at best only suppress symptoms. At their worst they hospitalize over two million people and kill hundreds of thousands more every year.3 Does this sound like a good spirit (good medicine) to you?
We all should understand there is both good and bad medicine. The difference between the two is that good medicine only heals and never harms. Bad medicine never heals and kills. Drugs that kill in the name of healing are not from God. They belong to Satan.
God cannot embrace any medicine that kills or maims in the name of healing. Such a modality stands opposed to everything God stands for. God receives no glory in death. God receives glory in healing the sick!
The pharmaceutical industry has no interest in healing the sick. Its only interest is in selling more drugs, and getting as many people as it can started on drugs and keeping them there for the rest of their lives.4
That last sentence, “keeping them there for the rest of their lives,” plays a big role over what God is concerned with. When you read Galatians 5:21, you will see the following text: “Those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.” The word “live” refers to everyday use, to be dependent upon, to make routine. In other words: To live by.
This brings us to the role drugs play in hospital emergency rooms and ICU’s. Drugs used here are used primarily on a temporary basis to stabilize patients for medical procedures and control of pain. Without question, when used in this manner, drugs have saved many lives. This is good!
People whose lives are saved in this manner do not normally stay on those drugs that saved them. It’s the people who “live” and stay on drugs to “manage” their lives that creates the spiritual dynamic opposed to God.
Today one can be prescribed drugs for almost any physical, lifestyle or emotional complaint: Male impotency, baldness, lack of sleep, arthritis, depression, pre and post menopause, acid reflux, anxiety, osteoporosis, acne, A.D.D., constipation and diabetes to name a few.
Drugs for these are many others of life’s complaints confuse us by counterfeiting the will of God in our lives. By creating alternative realities, the spirit behind these drugs can move us away from God’s will into an illusion, a false reality of truth.
God’s Word lists pharmakeia as a work of the flesh, because those who turn to drugs (and those who encourage their use) place dependency on a false reality (an illusion) instead of in God our Healer. It is an insidious scheme, one that has kept millions from knowing the power of healing afforded to them by God.
Healing of disease is one of God’s blessings to mankind. He never intended one should have to spend half their income on a man-made drug to live. He never intended that medicine should come at the price of “acceptable risk.” That’s why God created provisions for our well-being and placed those provisions in the plant kingdom for the generations of mankind to come (Genesis 1:29).
It is only the greed in man that creates a man-made substitute from those provisions and then foists them on an ignorant people as the latest miracle drug. The truth is all man-made drugs are far inferior to the real thing. They are but one reason why God calls us to be sober and avoid attacks from Satan (I Peter 5:8).
But God didn’t place every provision for healing in the plant kingdom. For He knew there would also be illnesses and disease visited on man through man’s sins of the heart. These sins include fear, worry, jealously, hatred, guilt and the like. The spiritual root cause causing these certain diseases require a cleansing of the heart only God can reach for healing to become reality.
As long as mankind looks to itself for answers to life’s problems, there will always be confusion, human suffering and unnecessary deaths. God alone holds the answer to life’s issues, including the well being of our bodies and heart. He is our creator. He knows you and I as individuals like no one else can. He is our all in all, Our God, Our Savior, Our Provider, Our Healer. He alone is Yehovah-rapha.

The shocking link between psychiatric drugs,
suicide, violence and mass murder
"Andrea Yates, in one of the most heartbreaking crimes in modern history, drowned all five of her children – aged 7 years down to 6 months – in a bathtub. Insisting inner voices commanded her to kill her kids, she had become increasingly psychotic over the course of several years.
Yates had been taking the antidepressant Effexor.
In November 2005, more than four years after Yates drowned her children, Effexor manufacturer Wyeth Pharmaceuticals quietly added "homicidal ideation" to the drug's list of "rare adverse events." But "rare" is defined by the FDA as occurring in less than one in 1,000 people. And since, according to an Associated Press report, about 19.2 million prescriptions for Effexor were filled in the U.S. alone in 2005, that means statistically almost 20,000 Americans could experience "homicidal ideation" – that is, murderous thoughts – as a result of taking just this one antidepressant drug.
Columbine mass-killer Eric Harris was taking the widely prescribed antidepressant Luvox when he and fellow student Dylan Klebold went on a hellish school shooting rampage in 1999, killing 12 students and a teacher and wounding 24 others before turning their guns on themselves.
Dr. Peter Breggin, a top expert on the adverse effects of psychiatric drugs, has analyzed in detail "the clinical and scientific reasons for believing that Eric Harris's violence was caused by prescribed Luvox."
Beyond showing how meds like Luvox can cause "command auditory hallucinations" and many other scary, suicidal and homicidal "rare adverse events," Breggin cites Luvox manufacturer Solvay Pharmaceuticals as conceding that 4 percent of children and youth taking Luvox developed mania during short-term controlled clinical trials.
"Mania," explains Breggin, "is a psychosis which can produce bizarre, grandiose, highly elaborated destructive plans, including mass murder."
Authorities investigating Cho Seung-Hui, who murdered 32 at Virginia Tech in April, reportedly found "prescription drugs" for the treatment of psychological problems among his possessions. Joseph Aust, Cho's roommate, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch Cho's routine each morning had included taking prescription drugs.
And while the autopsy report says no drugs were found in Cho's bloodstream on the day of the murders, April 16, Breggin says Cho could well "have been tipped over into violent madness weeks or months earlier by a drug like Prozac, Paxil or Zoloft."
Cho's medical records have yet to be released to the public – authorities claiming it's because a criminal investigation is ongoing, while Breggin suspects "maybe they're protecting drug companies," citing the serious problems withdrawal from psychiatric drugs have been known to cause."

Given the brewing scandal at the world bank around Wolfowitz's girlfriend, and the fact that they are meeting this week in America, perhaps it is time for them to acknowledge the roll they have played in the Vaccine scandals.

After watching Dr. Ayoub talk about the world bank and how they are "helping" the poorest nations on the earth, I have to question just about everything the world bank does and stands for.
Wolfowitz should be fired and the world bank exposed for the frauds around the vaccine controversys.

"One other tidbit about Wolfowitz that I have confirmed is less dramatic than securing his girlfriend a nearly $200,000 salary -- but still quite fascinating.
I now know from a second source -- as my first would only discuss this matter firmly off the record -- that Wolfowitz and Kevin Kellems had dinner at the Aquarelle Restaurant at the Watergate Hotel last year with a very prominent member of Washington's journalistic community.
The journalist in question had not met Wolfowitz previously and Kellems played a "relationship-brokering" role. What is interesting about this particular meeting -- as far as I understand the details of it -- is that the journalist in question, who I cannot name but can attest for his solid reputation as a serious writer, assumed that the topic of discussion at dinner would be Wolfowitz's global economic development agenda, his view of how to make the World Bank relevant to 21st century security and economic challenges, and so on.
Instead, Wolfowitz -- as recently as one year ago -- was still manically obsessed with the connection between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda. Wolfowitz reportedly brought with him to dinner an enormous binder of materials, articles, essays, reports, intelligence, etc. -- arguing that the connection between Hussein and bin Laden's operation was real and robust.
I can't report on the journalist's reaction to the dinner -- other than to say he was "surprised."
If Wolfowitz has been spending time hiring people like Robin Cleveland and Kevin Kellems -- as well as pushing the career of his girl friend "illegally" -- and obsessing about validating his bad decisions in the build-up to the Iraq War, then he has not been attentive to his real and fundamental responsibilites at the World Bank.
If all the rumors about his resignation tomorrow are untrue, Paul Wolfowitz should make them true as soon as possible."
My long time readers know that I am a Neo-Con and completely supported and continue to support the invasion of Iraq and the taking down of Sadaam Hussein. I also understand why Mr. Wolfowitz would want to validate and justify his actions and promotion of the War in Iraq.
What I would like to know is how much money Vaccine manufacturers had tied to this decision to yell and scream about Weapons of Mass Destruction the past six years. Don't get me wrong, I know those weapons are real and are a big threat. What I question is how much the Government has been influenced by Big Pharma to push it in the Media to soften up the populace into welcoming the idea that Vaccines are the answer to all of those threats?
I believe we all need to watch this very closely, and understand that our soldiers are being used as Gunea Pigs by being shot up with all the vaccines for WMD (Anthrax etc) The fact that our soldiers who have refused vaccines go to prison tells me how powerful the drug lobby has been in relation to these major decisions around weapons of mass destruction.
I am all for American Imperialism if it means freeing nations from despotic rule. But if American Imperialism boils down to hype to make more money for pharmaceutical companies, then I believe it is time for those particular frauds to be exposed!
Perhaps this World Band scandal will help open up the records and we can understand just exactly who has profited from the war in this sicko fashion.

"It was difficult to understand everything. What was depression, anyway? Whether or not to take medication was a hard decision. The doctor assured us that the medications were safe, non-addictive, and were not “uppers” or tranquilizers.
Insertion comment by Jenny Hatch - This is a bald faced lie, anti-depressants and completely addictive and getting off of them is one of the most difficult things most people will take on in their lives-
I was worried that taking medication was just putting a bandage on the problem and not getting to the root of it. Nevertheless, not being able to function, I finally agreed to try medication.
Yet still not understanding, I insisted on the lowest dosage possible. The doctor held back a smile and said, “Elaine, they are not handing out medals. You take whatever dosage is right for your body.”
Well, I thought, I want a medal! He was not LDS so I couldn't explain to him that I had grown up listening to stories of pioneers crossing the plains. I believed that I was supposed to “pull myself up by my bootstraps,” just like the courageous pioneers had done through their trials. Relying on medication seemed to be the easy way out."
This is a huge problem in the LDS Community. So many members are strung out on anti-depressants. I can understand Ann Blake Tracys frustration with the deceptions that have occursed by the medical people as they have been taken for a very long ride by the makers of these drugs. Some of them are speaking out and fighting back.
I get very frustrated watching my various friends who I know are taking these drugs. The most diabolical side to them however is the many children who are being given them. A dear friend just had her son diagnosed with diabetes this past week. The poor child has been taking psychiatric meds for quite a long time. If she had known that his pancreas was going to be ravaged by them, would she have given them to him every day??? This mother is one of the best, most devoted homeschooling moms I know. She has sacrificed everything for her little boy. Yet parents are not being told the facts of what the drugs will do short term and long term to their childrens bodies and minds.
I have shared my story of how I got off prozac in 1990 and what I did to prevent depression in my book A Mothers Journey, my story of healing after Post Partum Psychosis.
Until the LDS people get out from under the thumb of the doctors and the pharmaceutical companies that give them their marching orders, we will never achieve the sort of health and spirituality we all desire. The blackest time in my life was the year I spent doped up on psychiatric meds. I felt very little of anything, and when my moods were blunted with the drugs, it felt like all connectivity with heaven was also severed.

I'm waiting for the Media to start informing the public that Brittany Spears has experienced a full blown Post Partum Psychosis and is now on her chemical cocktail that is going to make "everything all better". "Brittany will be able to stay mentally stable as long as she stays on her Lithium like a good little girl and promises never to have any more children."
As if anything she has just experienced is caused by that little child entering her life!!!
Quiet Living and gentle birth are the answers for mentally ill mothers....not more drugs, more surgery, more hospitalizations, and turning away from healthy family life.
Celebrities need to understand that they must play by the rules when post partum just like everyone else. Attention to sleep, napping, good nutrition, massage, and quiet living PREVENT post partum depression and psychosis. Specific nutrients like calcium and magnesium plus all the B-complex nourish the brain when life overwhelms, and help the mother to sleep.

"Auger called it a relatively rare phenomenon. About 0.5 percent of people have it. More than 90 percent of cases occur in men older than 50. But, possibly because of the rise in antidepressant use, younger men, women and children have begun to complain of the disorder.
“We had a 10-year-old boy who had terrible REM behavior disorder,” said Mark Mahowald, a leading researcher on the disorder at the Minnesota Regional Sleep Disorder Center in Minneapolis. “He was being given Effexor for some nondescript learning disorder and was falling out of bed constantly. When you see a 10-year-old boy with REM behavior disorder, you can bet that the first 10 causes are antidepressants, antidepressants, antidepressants.”
REM sleep, or rapid-eye movement sleep, is the time in the sleep cycle when people have their most robust dreams. During REM — unlike other periods in the sleep cycle — the brain normally paralyzes the skeletal muscles so the body doesn’t run around while sleeping. But this doesn’t happen in REM behavior disorder.
Scientists suspect antidepressants are acting on neurochemicals in the brain stem that typically cause what’s known as REM sleep paralysis, or atonia. People who later go on to develop Parkinson’s may be getting REM behavior disorder early because certain cells in the brain have begun to deteriorate.
REM behavior disorder usually comes to the attention of physicians only after someone has tossed himself out of bed during a violent dream or, more common, after inadvertently assaulting a spouse.
“One of my patients was hitting his wife in the night, and he didn’t know it,” Romaker said. “They came to me in their 80s. This had been going on for years. His poor wife had never told him until she had a black eye. She didn’t want to hurt his feelings.”
The range of behaviors is as vast as dreams themselves.
“It can be as simple as someone who sits up at night and turns pages because they’re dreaming they’re reading a book,” Romaker said. “I had one gentleman who thought he was fishing. He was gutting a fish, and he was trying to gut his wife. It was fortunate he didn’t actually have anything sharp.”"
Its nice that the Mayo Clinic is on the case. Now that the Medical People are starting to take note (17 years too late), perhaps we'll have these drugs pulled in another 20 years by Congress.
Ann Tracy claims that many of the people who commit crimes while taking Anti-Depressants are in fact in the REM sleep disorder state.
When the Brain Disrupts the Night
The original title I chose for my book Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? was Our Serotonin Sleepwalk Nightmare. At the time of the first edition (1994) everyone argued that no one would know enough about serotonin to understand that the book was about antidepressants so we went ahead with the name of the most popular of the SSRIs - Prozac.
Now for those of you who have read my book or heard me lecture you are aware of the reason for the title I chose - my focus on the most serious of the side effects of SSRIs - the REM Sleep Behavior Disorder (RBD). The largest chapter of my book is devoted to this disorder which I consider the most dangerous of all the reactions to an SSRI. I firmly believe that RBD is the reason for much of the violence we see with the serotonergic antidepressants and the serotonergic antipsychotics as well as Fen-Phen and Redux which are also serotonergic.
To help those who have not read my book and are not familiar with RBD let me quote one statement from an article (below) that ran in the New York Times last month: “REM behavior disorder [RBD] is the only parasomnia routinely associated with violence. But sleepwalkers have also been known to stab their relatives, molest children or confidently stride out of third-story windows, in states varying from confused wakefulness to partial arousal to the deepest stages of non-REM or slow-wave sleep.”
Even though no one else has focused on this disorder as I have for so long and worked so hard to get the public to see that these drugs are causing the REM Sleep Behavior Disorder, the following information shocked even me! In fact I am still trying to catch my breath because the original medical article is even more shocking than this NY Times article.
Let me first give you a little background before you read the article. In 1991 I made a call to Dr. Carlos Schenk, the author of this study. I told him that I was concerned at how much evidence there was that Prozac (the only SSRI on the American market at the time) was causing the REM Sleep Behavior Disorder. I told him what patients on these drugs were reporting that would show they were experiencing this as a side effect.
He listened intently and then told me that there was not any research to back up my conclusion.
I told him that was okay, but that I had ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT that Prozac was triggering this most dangerous sleepwalk state and that someone had better do the research because this was something that had the potential of affecting many people worldwide.
Dr. Schenk never called me back to let me know that he immediately began doing that research. He went back through the records at the Minnesota Regional Sleep Disorders Center in Minneapolis where he and his research partner Dr. Mark Mahowold are known as the leading researchers in America on this disorder. Amazingly he found in going through the records for the past 41 months that an astounding 48.8% of all those who had come through the clinic and been diagnosed as suffering from RBD were on Prozac!
If that information was not shocking enough as the information reached the doctors, who then began to watch for this connection, rather than having to go back through old records to see if there might be someone on Prozac who had this disorder, found that 80% of those with the signs of RBD were on Prozac!!! And on top of that the symptoms of this disorder continued in one patient for 19 months AFTER coming off only short term use of Prozac!! Severe sleep disturbance continued for months after coming off the drug. Which is why I mention the importance of using so many natural alternatives to rebuild after being on these drugs.
Of the significance of this information the author of the NY Times article states, “No one yet knows how common such side effect are, or their implications — if any.”
I would gladly tell them how common this side effect is and how far reaching the implications are!!!! That is what I have been trying to tell them for over a decade! Phil and Brynn Hartman would LOVE to explain to them the implications of SSRI induced RBD if they only could, as would thousands of others who have lost their lives to this side effect.
As I say in nearly every lecture I give, “What could be more terrible than to chemically induce first of all someone’s most horrifying nightmare and then sleepwalk? REM behavior disorder is the only parasomnia routinely associated with violence. But sleepwalkers have also been known to stab their relatives, molest children or confidently stride out of third-story windows, in states varying from confused wakefulness to partial arousal to the deepest stages of non-REM or slow-wave sleep.
Other sleep disorder patients, who suffer from a condition called nocturnal dissociative disorder, awaken and leave their beds to re-enact scenes of physical or sexual abuse, sometimes cutting themselves with razors or banging their heads against the wall. Afterward, they remember nothing about their nighttime behavior.

Simon Fraser, a 19th-century Scot who killed his 18-month-old son by dashing him against the wall, said he did so while dreaming that a wild beast had jumped on the bed and was attacking the boy. “I am guilty in my sleep, but not guilty in my senses,” he insisted.
More recently, the defendants in several murder cases have used sleep as a defense, in one instance successfully: a Canadian, Kenneth Parks, was acquitted after experts testified that he was in a somnambulistic state when, in May 1987, he drove 14 miles to the house of his in-laws, where he stabbed his mother-in-law to death and nearly killed his father-in-law.
Such cases, Dr. Mahowald said, make it clear that sleep and waking are hardly distinct states.
In many normal people, he said, detailed neurophysiological studies of the brain show that the signs of sleep persist for an hour after awakening, though an EEG indicates that the person is already fully awake.
“Most people’s concept is that the entire brain is in one state of being, and that’s just not true,” Dr. Mahowald said. “You can have parts of the brain that are awake while others are asleep.”

"Even the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, an organization whose members strongly favor drug treatment, just completed new guidelines recommending that children receive talk therapy before being given drugs for the common complaint of moderate depression.
Parents should take on the responsibility of being parents, and they should beware of the psychotropic drugs that have unfortunate or even tragic side effects. Parents should help to pass pro-parent legislation before those who think the "village" should raise all children use mental health screening to label their child as nuts."
