Natural News: HPV Vaccine News
Merck Targets Low Income and Minority Women in HPV Vaccine Study
Merck, manufacturer of the controversial Gardasil vaccine, has awarded a research grant of $79,000.00 to two Indiana University Kelley School of Business professors to study the effect of two interventions on acceptance of the HPV vaccination among low-income and minority women, according to a press release by the university. One professor, Dena Cox, will examine how consumers make health care decisions. Another professor, Anthony Cox, will explore how consumers evaluate the risk factors involved when considering medical treatments.
Researchers are Business Experts, Not Medical Doctors
Eli Lilly Fellow Dena Cox, who will serve as the principal investigator on the study, was previously a microbiologist before receiving a doctorate in marketing from the University of Houston. Anthony Cox, co-investigator for this study, has a Ph.D. in marketing from Indiana University. Note that neither of these researchers are medical doctors. According to the press release, it is their job to "seek the most effective ways to present HPV vaccine risk and benefit information to low-income Hispanic, African-American and White women, so that they can make informed HPV vaccination decisions."

Doug Bremmer: Can you please put some sugar on this crap?
"I had some time I didn't expect to have yesterday since my anticipated appearance on Fox's Mike and Juliet Show to talk about the link between the acne medication Accutane and depression and suicide was canceled, so I thought I'd write about how my day was going so far. I guess someone told Fox that they are getting a lot of advertising dollars from the pharmaceutical industry, and what I had to say might not make some people happy.
At first they asked if I would like to go on the show and "debate" someone. When I didn't seem too excited about that they said they would "get back to me" and then later left me a voice message saying that I wouldn't be going on the show but that I would be "credited" for my work. So I checked out the clip on the internet, and low and behold Fox set up the story by starting out with a family's complaints about Accutane causing their son to commit suicide, followed by an attractive dermatologist named Cheryl Karcher, MD, who sat there in her white coat and said "I'm soooo sorry for the Zimmers but there is no evidence that Accutane causes depression or suicide...."
....I have presented the evidence elsewhere that Accutane is associated with depression and suicide. So if people want, they can go read it themselves. I have never met anyone who wasn't on the payroll for Roche who has read the evidence who doesn't agree, and I have never met any dermatologist who could look me in the eye and tell me that she never had a patient become depressed or feel like they were in a haze while on Accutane.
So there you have it, folks. Out-FOXed again. That is how the media presents things to you. Nothing is ever "proven" and there are always two viewpoints that balance each other out.
So, the next time you turn on your tube to feed yourself, why don't you send FOX an email asking "Can you put some sugar on that crap you're feeding me?"
I guess we got it, sort of, with Dr. Karcher."
Keep Yelling Doug....maybe some day someone at Fox and all of the Media will get it.

PS I was also asked to be on that same talk show last year to discuss my experience with Post Partum Psychosis. We were not able to make it work schedule wise, but I was impressed with the producer who called me. She seemed nice and was really interested in the alternative therapies I have used for healing my emotional illness. I challenged her to get Dr. Breggin on the show. She had never heard of him. When I watched the episode I was supposed to be on, they had a promo for Post Partum Depression on the web listing, but the segment never appeared, so I guess they just dumped the story.

HuffPo: Peter Breggin: The Anthrax Perpetrator and the Arkansas Shooter Were Taking Antidepressants
This latest blog entry by Dr. Breggin (A personal hero of mine for the past eighteen years) has some damning information about the Anthrax Murderer Bruce Ivins.
"It was recently disclosed that two murderers, one extremely notorious, were probably taking antidepressants at the time of their crimes, but hardly anyone is taking notice.
On August 7, 2008, a few newspapers mentioned that newly released government papers showed that bioweapons scientist Bruce Ivins had been taking the antidepressant Celexa during the time he developed and carried out his plan to send letters laced with anthrax through the mail. Ivins killed himself with an overdose with other pills on July 29 after learning that the FBI was going to indict him. His terrorist attack killed five people.
Within a week after his suicide, the government made public the information that Ivins had a history of mental instability and that he had been taking Celexa (citalopram), a Prozac knockoff. According to the August 7 Los Angeles Times, a U. S. Attorney reported that Ivins was taking Celexa in the summer and fall of 2001 -- the time period during which he was planning and carrying out his anthrax letter assault, which began with poisoned letters postmarked September 18, 2001.
In a letter to a friend on June 27, 2000, Ivins indicated that he was taking Celexa. A week later he wrote that his psychiatrist and counselor thought his problems "may not be those of depression or bipolar disorder, they may be that of 'paranoid personality disorder.'" On October 16, 2001, during the anthrax attacks, a coworker noted, "Bruce has been an absolute manic basket case in the last few days."
Celexa, and the other newer antidepressants, commonly cause a worsening of depression, manic-like reactions (that mistakenly get diagnosed as bipolar disorder), and paranoia. A few newspapers mentioned Ivins' use of Celexa; but none that I have found made any links between Celexa, suicide and violence, even though these associations appear in the FDA-approved label for the drug.
Turning to the second murderer, on August 13th Tim Johnson walked into the Democratic headquarters in Little Rock and shot dead the chairman of the Arkansan Democratic Party, Bill Gwatney. There was no apparent motive. Earlier in the day, Johnson abruptly began to behave irrationally at work. He looked extremely irate, scribbled graffiti on the walls, and then abruptly left. Later in the morning, he shot and killed Mr. Gwatney. After a police chase, Johnson himself was shot to death. A police property receipt for items taken from Johnson's home listed a bottle of the antidepressant Effexor XR (long-acting venlafaxine). Effexor, like Celexa, can cause suicide violence, and manic-like reactions.
The scientific evidence is overwhelming that the antidepressants can and frequently do cause extremely abnormal behavior. I've reviewed this evidence and vividly described dozens of cases of antidepressant-induced suicide, violence and crime in my new book, Medication Madness: A Psychiatrist Exposes the Dangers of Mood Altering Drugs (St. Martin's, 2008). In almost all the cases, people with no history of severe problems nonetheless lost control of themselves after starting on an antidepressant and committed desperate and often bizarre acts with disastrous consequences.
Although the scientific literature that I review in Medication Madness demonstrates that antidepressants can cause severely disturbed behavior, there's no need look further than the conservative FDA-approved labels for the drugs as found in the Physicians' Desk Reference (2008). Since 2005 all the antidepressants including Celexa and Effexor carry a black box warning about antidepressant-induced suicidality. The black box also warns about "clinical worsening" and "unusual changes in behavior." This warning is prominently situated at the top of the lengthy description of the drugs that are found in the official labels or package inserts.
In addition to the black box, both labels for Celexa and Effexor have extensive additional warnings about antidepressant-induced abnormal behavior, including reports of "anxiety, agitation, panic attacks, insomnia, irritability, hostility, aggressiveness, impulsivity, insomnia, akathisia (psychomotor restlessness), hypomania and mania" in association with the drugs. This list is worth re-reading a few times; it is a prescription for violence. It mimics almost word for word the warnings I began giving many years earlier in my books and scientific articles. While these warnings are found in all antidepressant labels, Effexor goes one step further by listing "homicidal ideation" as a rarely reported adverse effect to the drug.
In addition, the FDA now requires the drug companies to make available for patients and their families a special "Medication Guide" about the risks associated with antidepressants. The guide warns patients and their families to be on the lookout for multiple symptoms that may develop after the drug has been started, including the following bulleted items:
· Attempts to commit suicide
· New or worse depression
· Feeling very agitated or restless
· New or worse irritability
· Acting aggressive, being angry, or violent
· Acting on dangerous impulses
Given this readily available information, why isn't there an overwhelming public demand to examine the role that antidepressants may have played in the violence perpetrated by Bruce Ivins and Tim Johnson, as well as many others such as Cho, the mass murderer at Virginia Tech, and Eric Harris, the mass murderer at Columbine High School?
Is there a conspiracy to remain silent about these matters of such enormous public importance? The drug companies spend billions of dollars each year, often in the form of hush money for lawsuit settlements, in order hide from the public how deadly their drugs can be. They advertise heavily in the scientific journals and in the general media, and use this leverage to suppress negative information about their products. The drug companies control much of what happens in organized medicine and psychiatry, including nearly all pharmacology research. The FDA and the NIMH act like partners to the drug industry in what I call the psychopharmaceutical complex. This is not so much a conspiracy as an open partnership among interest groups who feed off pushing psychiatric drugs onto the public.
Given the growing mountain of cases of violence that may be directly caused by exposure to antidepressants, it's time for Congress to get more seriously involved in demanding the facts and in investigating the role of antidepressants in so many murders that may have been avoidable if the perpetrators had not been given the drugs. The media also needs to take up the issue. Instead of passing mentions in a few newspapers that these and other murderers have been exposed to antidepressants, we need genuine investigative reporting to dig out the details. In the meanwhile, as my new book demonstrates, and as the FDA labels warn, there can be no doubt that antidepressants can and do cause suicide, mayhem and violence.
Peter Breggin's newly revised website is www.breggin.com
His latest book is Medication Madness: A Psychiatrist Exposes the Dangers of Mood-Altering Medications (St. Martin's Press, 2008).
Thanks Dr. Breggin for being the voice of sanity in a world gone mad! Your books gave me the tools I needed to wean off of the meds I had been court ordered to eat and your book Talking back to Prozac was my first baby step towards learning the truth about Psychiatric Meds.

Amy Philo takes on The Mothers Act
Sanders Turns Blind Eye To Victims, Sponsors Deadly MOTHERS Act
Go Here to read the PDF version of this article.
Amy conducted an email interview for this article. Here is the portion that mentions my story:
"In 1988 Jenny Hatch was placed in a Michigan state mental institution for postpartum psychosis and drugged with Haldol. She stayed there for nine days until she could be transferred to a private hospital, where she says she fought back with the staff on the medication issue for two weeks.
Ultimately the private hospital sent Jenny back to the state hospital and she fought medications for six more days, telling everyone that she was breastfeeding a baby and could not take their drugs. A judge then ordered “90 days additional incarceration in the hospital and forced meds.” She was sent back to a private hospital where they forced Lithium, Stelazine, and Prozac.
When she became extremely suicidal on Prozac, the Stelazine was withdrawn and the Prozac was doubled. Ultimately after finally leaving the hospital, Jenny located a doctor who helped her wean off all medications over a six-month period. She also followed up by beginning a full body detoxification and then went on to have four more children, fortunately with zero psychiatric pills to follow.
Over the past 18 years Jenny has advocated against forced drugging and her story has been publicized in various magazines and books. But for psychiatry, old habits die hard.
In a recent blog entry, Jenny wrote about two women who had contacted her who had a history of psychosis and were told that if they ever had any more children, they would be ordered to take antipsychotic drugs for two full years following the births in order to “prevent” PPP.
Similarly, New Jersey’s “MOTHERS Law,” passed in 2006, has already resulted in mothers being forcibly taken to the hospital by police simply for mentioning to their doctors they were depressed or calling a PPD hotline. Force is certainly nothing new in psychiatry, and in fact it has been central to the field for its entire history. It seems that the drug pushers care only about maintaining income at all costs. Those caught by psychiatry cannot be called patients at all but rather, victims."

The Mothers Act: Delayed for now
I would like to point out to my readers who are liberals that this legislative fight is one of the reasons I am a republican. If you will carefully read the final portion of the article from World Net Daily you will see that the vote in Congress came down to near perfect split between democrats and republicans. With republicans siding for freedom and choice and the democrats led by Harry Reid siding for compulsion and force.
I have been in contact with two women who experienced post partum psychosis after the births of their first babes, just like I did. Both were told that if they chose to have a second child they would be forced to take anti psychotic medications for at least two years upon the births of those children. I wonder if their doctors have ever read the research that proves those who take anti psychotic meds long term have a higher incidence of recurring mental illness than those who stop taking the meds?
Here is the final quote from the article:
A very close call?
Sen. Robert Menéndez, a supporter of NARAL Pro-Choice America and Planned Parenthood, is the leading sponsor of the Melanie Blocker Stokes Mother's Act. The senator represents New Jersey, where many of the world's pharmaceutical companies are located.
Menéndez sponsored the Mother's Act on May 11, 2007, but it was stuck in committee until Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid introduced an $11 billion omnibus package called Advancing America's Priorities Act, or S. 3297. He brought the Mother's Act back to life July 22 by burying it in the omnibus and asking that the Senate pass the measure without debate.
In addition to the Mother's Act, the omnibus package contained 36 unrelated bills and created 77 new federal programs. It featured a variety of provisions including: health care, environmental conservation, homeland security, foreign relations and other legislation.
Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., who delivers babies when he's not in Congress, successfully put a hold on bills in the omnibus due to excessive spending. Reid's motion for cloture to bypass Senate debate on S. 3297 failed to get the required 60 votes yesterday – 52 Democrats for and 40 Republicans against, with 8 not voting – but opponents warn the battle against the Melanie Blocker Stokes Mother's Act has just begun. Some say it will only be a matter of time before lawmakers cave and consent to government-imposed mental screening and antidepressant drugs for new mothers.
"They're just going to keep trying, so we need to raise awareness of the bill and the problems with it and educate Congress about how extremely controversial it is," Philo said.
"Melanie Stokes would be extremely dishonored by this bill because if it hadn't been for all of the drugs and electroshock she was given, she wouldn't be dead today. Her child would have a mother."
And here is another quote from the article:
Fighting the Mother's Act
Amy Philo and baby
Philo is now one of the leading opponents of the Mother's Act. She she says it is the government's way of pandering to drug companies and forcing dangerous medication on new moms.
"It is pretty obvious to me that this bill is to get more women to take drugs," she said. "The groups that are pushing this also frequently talk about how the drugs are safe for mothers who are pregnant or breastfeeding. They just totally downplay it."
Antidepressants contain FDA warnings for everything from doubling suicide rates to birth defects and spontaneous abortions. The FDA has also received reports of the drugs causing mania, psychosis, hallucinations, homicidal ideation and rendering birth control pills ineffective. Yet, despite such warnings, antidepressants are still prescribed for pregnant women and would be authorized under this legislation.
"They want to screen every woman that they can find," Philo said. "It's really frightening. They even mention case management and transportation services in the bill. It sounds like they will send out social workers to your house to ask you questions. It's really frightening to think that they could use their subjective tests and determine that you are an unfit parent."

Drug Companies paying doctors?

Drugmakers and College Labs: Too Cozy?
Medical researchers at Harvard and Stanford have failed to disclose millions in payments from Big Pharma, an Iowa senator charges
"Grassley serves as the ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, which has jurisdiction over the federal Medicare and Medicaid programs. In early June, he released information alleging a group of Harvard psychiatrists received more than $4 million from drug companies that they didn't report to the university. On June 23, he singled out another prominent psychiatrist, Dr. Alan Schatzberg of Stanford, saying the university should have demanded more stringent disclosure from its faculty member.
The senator alleged in the Congressional Record that Schatzberg failed to report to Stanford some payments from 2000 to 2006 from Eli Lilly (LLY) and Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) for consulting and other services. Grassley also chastised Schatzberg for not fully informing the university about the value of his personal stake in a drug development company he co-founded—although the psychiatrist appears to have followed Stanford's disclosure rules.
"I am concerned that Stanford might not have been able to adequately monitor the degree of Dr. Schatzberg's conflicts of interest," Grassley said in a June 23 letter to Stanford President John Hennessy that was published in the Congressional Record. The senator suggested the university reexamine its disclosure policies.
Concerned about the influence of drug industry money on patient care, Grassley began investigating physicians at research universities across the country last year. The senator believes his findings will help generate support for a bill he is co-sponsoring that would require drug and medical device companies to report any payment to a physician exceeding $500. Doctors' names and details about the payments would be posted on a Web site. "The public relies on the advice of doctors and leading researchers," Grassley said in an e-mail to BusinessWeek. "The public has a right to know about financial relationships between those doctors and the drug companies who make the pharmaceuticals prescribed by doctors."
Amen and Amen.

Controversy over a Pfizer antismoking drug is fueling debate about whether patients should be told of corporate ties
QUOTE:
"In January and then again in May 2008, Pfizer added warnings to Chantix's label saying patients should be watched for unusual psychiatric symptoms such as suicidal thoughts. The company says in an e-mail that it sought to give doctors "more direct guidance" on using the drug.
On May 21, the Institute for Safe Medication Practices, a nonprofit group in Horsham, Pa., released a paper based on 3,063 reports of "adverse events" submitted to the FDA by people taking Chantix. Among the findings: 227 had suicidal thoughts or behaviors, and 525 said they had acted with hostility or aggression. Pfizer has sent a Chantix team on the road to speak to financial analysts and journalists. Still, some Wall Street analysts fear that the FDA will require Pfizer to add a "black box"—one of the strictest warnings that can appear on a label—to draw more attention to side effects.
Steinberg says he might revert to prescribing more patches and gum if Chantix acquires a black box. But for now he adds: "If someone is doing well for six months, and they say, 'I think if I stop [taking Chantix] I might relapse to smoking,' I would feel comfortable continuing that medication."
Yet another drug with psychiatric side effects.

Jenny Hatch, My thoughts on Homebirth and the American Medical Associations "Model Legislation", which as far as I'm concerned they can write up, propose to congress, and then shove that legislation where the sun don't shine.
UPDATE:
Good Morning America posted the video and story that ran on sunday morning on their web site. Go check out this link to see the story. And the Comments.
Here is the comment I left on the site:
"PS: I don't have time to respond to any more comments by Dr. Tuteur."
It is my humble opinion that party pooper Dr. Amy Tutor, the bloggin' doc with a personality disorder and ax to grind against home birth, is a paid hack for pharmacuetical companies. As a blogging doctor she advocates a 39 week c-section as the best birth choice for babes and mothers. Anyone with half a brain knows that major surgery is far more risky for mom and babe than a natural vaginal birth.
And hey, she has the Big Pharma funded study to back up her claim - so you nasty, wasty home birthers just shut up, because nothing you will ever say will ever ever ever change her mind or get her to accept that family centered birth has anything at all, ever, to offer to a husband and wife relationship or help bond the family with the new child.
Only thing to do with someone like her is to blow her a big fat raspberry as you orgasmically push your baby out into his/her fathers hands. She is the killjoy of the homebirth movement. I debated her all last summer. But Dr. Crappen pulled the debate hosted on his blog.
The Salon debate was fun and my personal favorite, the unassisted childbirth debate hosted at the Washington Post.
What rockin good times we had last summer! She just magically appears any time someone mentions home birth on the internet.....What a busy beaver!

Lately Ben and I have been playing alot of Monopoly. He loves it and we have both enjoyed the leisure hours spent playing this fun Capitalistic board game.
These past few days I have been pondering the recent document TMZ published from the American Medical Association.
The OB's currently enjoy a near monopoly with birth in America. And the usual suspects are claiming that AMA resolution 205 on Home Deliveries statement is NOT a step towards criminalizing home birth. It says:
"RESOLVED, That our AMA develop model legislation in support of the concept that the safest setting for labor, delivery, and the immediate post-partum period is in the hospital, or a birthing center within a hospital complex, that meets standards jointly outlined by the AAP and ACOG, or in a freestanding birthing center that meets the standards of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, The Joint Commission, or the American Association of Birth Centers."
Now, I don't know what all of you think "model legislation" implys, but to me it leans towards outlawing or banning/criminalizing homebirth and homebirthing mothers.
Or making the rules of engagement so tightly conformed that only a woman between the ages of 34 and 35 who has already sucessfully given birth to four children vaginally in the hospital, who only gains 23 pounds during her pregnancy, who has an ambulance waiting in the driveway, who goes into labor at midnight at week 39 of gestation, and lives within four minutes of a NICU (with pre paid doctor standing by), and who pays out of pocket four thousand dollars to the MEDwife who has been trained, credentialed, and sanitized by the AMA, will be allowed to give birth at home.
So for the twelve women in America who meet the criteria outlined.....You Go GIRLS!!! Have your babies at home. The American Medical Association says you can if, and only IF you meet their "model legislation" rules of engagement.
The rest of us, who have previous c-section scars, who have bled out after a birth, who have been troubled with post partum emotional illness, and/or who dare to go past our due dates with a ten month gestator well, sorry Mama, you are NOT WORTHY to give birth at home, because we have RISKED YOU OUT!! Too bad...so sad. Now conform to our rules or we will take your baby away, lock you up in jail, and rip your family apart...because hey, we are the Gods of Modern Medicine and we know what is best for you and your family!!!
Barf!! Gag, Gag...

Howard Hughes Medical Institute featured on 60 minutes
I just watched this interesting story on 60 minutes. The late billionaire's money is being used to probe life's medical mysteries through the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, America's second largest charity. Lesley Stahl reports.
I went to the Hughes Medical Institute Web site and found this page which describes the goals of the new Janelia Farm.
Quote:
"Janelia Farm's overall objective is to pursue fundamental problems in basic biomedical research that are difficult to approach in academia or industry, because:
They require expertise from disparate areas.
They are too long-term for standard funding mechanisms.
They are outside the current priorities of other funding agencies."
They should have added a few more fundamental problems to the goals of this institute....
They are illegal, unethical, and/or criminal in nature.
They fulfill agendas and/or goals of population control whack jobs who believe they have the mandate and the power to decide how many people get to live on the earth.
They use intimidation, assassination, and biomedical means to control and or eliminate political or philisophical enemies.
They believe they are above the law and/or not accountable to any governement agency, inquiry, or checks and balances that are a part of governmental scientific inquiry.
Whew, what a lot of problems to overcome when researching the most efficient and cost effective ways to control populations and use Vaccines to kill and/or sterilize huge swaths of the people living on planet earth.
But hey, these people have all the money, power, and backing agendas of the worlds elites.
Only thing is, some of us don't really relish the thought of them murdering innocent people and sterilizing and controling populations with bogus and fraudulent vaccination programs. It seems rather evil and underhanded.
A noxious stench is emanating from the Hughes Foundation.....I just wonder WHO is going to do a little inquiry into these operations and expose the vaccine population control agendas to federal authorities and the american public???
For some strange reason, I just don't think 60 Minutes is up to the job.....
PS To my international readers....If anyone from the US shows up in your country with big boxes of so called Malaria Vaccine and want to vaccinate all of the young girls from the ages of 10 to 14, grab your daughter, your sister, your neighbor, your friend and head for the hills!!!
If any of these dr. deaths happen to get some of that poison into your child and they have an adverse reaction, please email me the story with pictures, video, and your testimonial and I will publish it on my blog.

Fox News: Greta Van Susteren interviews Jenny McCarthy "On the Record" on her sons Autism
I thought this interview was the best one Jenny has done so far. Thanks Fox and Greta for taking the time to do such a great interview.
PS Who does not bother to be "fair and balanced" on this blog, and thus will NOT share the recent letter from the American Academy of Pediatrics on Autism and the Green our Vaccines Rally.
My blog Mission Statement is "Healthy Families Make A Healthy World". Vaccines are being used by Globalist Elitists to implement a Population Reduction Agenda in our society. Because of that fact, I do not, nor will I ever trust a Big Pharma Vaccine for me or my children and will go to jail rather than allow my little ones to be poisoned.
Here are three documentary movies that will help educate you about these statements of fact:
David Ayoub, M.D. goes through the relations of Mercury to Autism as well its connections to “National Security Study Memorandum 200”; for population control. Showing its shocking connections to today’s G.A.V.I. Are powerful forces really trying to help the poor people or could it be for another agenda; the sterilization of the poor?
This is an upsetting video, so brace yourself.

This just in from Ann Blake Tracy
Warnings from the FDA Mandated Medication Guide on Antidepressants:
• thoughts about suicide or dying
• attempts to commit suicide
• new or worse depression
• new or worse anxiety
• feeling very agitated or restless
• panic attacks
• trouble sleeping (insomnia)
• new or worse irritability
• acting aggressive, being angry,
or violent
• acting on dangerous impulses
• an extreme increase in activity and
talking (mania)
• other unusual changes in behavior
or mood
Never stop an antidepressant medicine without first talking to a healthcare
provider. Stopping an antidepressant medicine suddenly can cause other
symptoms.
After Two Decades of Antidepressants - Most Prescribed Drug?- WHY??
This past week the CDC released some very shocking news - antidepressants
are now officially the most prescribed drugs on the market today.
And why is that news shocking? Let's take a look at the facts:
#1 In 2004 the FDA began to warn the public that they were seeing an
increase in suicides among youth with the use of antidepressant medications.
#2 In 2005 the official warning came from the FDA that antidepressants
double the rate of suicide for those under age 18. This was a sweeping warning
for any antidepressant ever introduced to the market and any to ever be
approved in the future. (This warning was the next closest thing they could
impose next to an outright ban of the drugs.)
#3 The FDA also warned all users of these drugs at the same time that
any abrupt change in dose of one of these drugs, whether increasing or
decreasing the drug, could produce suicide, hostility or psychosis.
#4 In December 2006 the warning for increased suicide was extended by
the FDA to anyone under the age of 25.
#5 In August 2007 Dr. Thomas Insel, head of the National Institute of
Mental Health in speaking of new studies being conducted with the use of
Ketamine ("Special K" is the street name for this sister drug to PCP - Angel Dust)
in the treatment of depression said that antidepressants produce the same
effect as Ketamine. The only difference noted was that Ketamine produced these
effects instantly where antidepressants take a few weeks to produce that
effect. They were impressed that Ketamine would rid a patient of depression
immediately where the antidepressants would take several weeks to do the same, yet
when one is aware that Ketamine and PCP are dissociative anesthetics, no one
would expect the patient to FEEL anything! [For two decades I have warned
that these antidepressants are much too similar in action to the hallucinogens
PCP and LSD.]
#6 The news came out in January 2008 that the initial studies done on
antidepressants demonstrated that these drugs are of no more benefit than a
placebo. Why was no one aware of that? Doctors and patients were no aware of
this because the very large majority of the negative studies were never made
public.
#7 Although the benefit of antidepressants is non-existent, these drugs
have a very long list of serious and very deadly side effects.
#8 In a recent retrospective study out of Sweden they found that 85% of
those who committed had recently taken antidepressants.
#9 The most popular antidepressant on the market, Effexor, now has
"homicidal ideation" (obsessive/ruminating thoughts of killing and how to kill)
listed as a side effect. The manufacturer had this data for over a decade, yet
they chose to not disclose that until a few years ago. Before that warning
was added: [I will mention just a handful of cases of professionals who should
have known.]
Andrea Yates, a nurse, drowned her five children while taking this drug.
Then, while Andrea's case was in court a female doctor in Illinois on the same
drug, killed one son and severely injured another. In Tennessee another female
doctor also on Effexor slit her 7 year old son's throat and then her own.
And then it really hit home for Wyeth when one of their own employees,
Cassandra Burgess, whose job it was to take adverse reaction reports on Effexor was
killed along with her parents and daughter by her husband who was taking
Effexor. He then took his own life. So even though she heard the adverse reports
daily on Effexor she still missed the signs in her own husband (although they
were there if you knew what signs to look for) soon enough to save herself
and her family.
The role of the FDA is to judge the risk to benefit of medications. After
seeing the studies demonstrating no more benefit than a placebo, yet deadly
enough to produce brutal homicides, why are these drugs still on the market? And
why on earth are they the most popular medications?! And the biggest question
of all . . . WHY IS IT OKAY IN AMERICA OR ANYWHERE ELSE TO HAVE PRESCRIPTION
MEDICATIONS THAT CAN PRODUCE HOMICIDAL TENDENCIES AS A SIDE EFFECT
???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We now have medical studies showing that antidepressants:
- are of no more benefit than a sugar pill
- produce fatal birth defects from heart malformations and PPH (Primary
Pulminary Hypertension)
- produce mania which includes: wild spending leading to bankruptcy, sexual
compulsions, pyromania leading to arson, another form of mania leads to
compulsions for alcohol
- keep patients from forming or maintaining meaningful romantic
relationships and that marriage relationships of 40 + years suddenly end with the
numbness that comes from these drugs thus destroying many families via divorce.
- increase chances of breast cancer by 7 times
- induce LSD flashbacks and LSD like reactions
- produce amazingly high incidents of psychotic breaks leading to an
increase in Bipolar Disorder of over 4000% in one decade!
- double the level of cortisol with one dose (steroid effect)
- produce Diabetes, Alzheimer's, Autism, Fybromyalgia - all of which
have skyrocketed in the last two decades that these drugs have become so widely
used
- produce pedophilia while we now have an epidemic of female school
teachers seducing male students
- dramatically increase suicide
- so strongly affect memory that "amnesia" is listed as a "frequent"
side effect leaving many patients with severe memory loss and false memories
leading them to falsely accuse others of various abuses
- produce serious weight gain leading to many additional health problems
- reports are that approximately one third of pregnant women are now
taking antidepressants as their baby's brains form in the womb leaving us to ask
what the end result might be
All of this helps to answer the question everyone is asking, "What on earth
is happening to our world?!"
And once again I ask the same question I have asked for two decades now,
"WHY are the antidepressants still on the market?"

FLDS Mothers May Have To Abandon Religion To Reunite With Children

Ruth, 31, a mother of four children, left rear, becomes emotional as Velvet, 31, right, a mother of one child whose children are all in state custody tell reporters during a news conference of how they were separated from their children earlier in the day as they stand outside the Yearning For Zion ranch near Eldorado, Texas, Thursday, April 24, 2008.
(Associated Press)
FLDS Mothers May Have To Abandon Religion To Reunite With Children
Watch the video associated with this outrageous story!
And here is the thread at Free Republic where a bunch of freedom loving constitutionalists are making complete idiots out of themselves by defending the Texas Authorities stealing children from their parents and forcing women to give up their religion and/or family life as they conform to societal expectations.
Please note: If children were being molested and/or If girls under the age of 14 were being forced into marriage with people they did not want to marry, then sure, charge the people who committed the crimes and then throw the book at them, lock them up, and then throw away the key.
Texans did not have any trouble with girls under sixteen getting married for the hundred years before the FLDS showed up, and created that law to increase the marital age just to punish the religious lifestyle of those families.
This lifestlye and religion does NOT give the old biddies at Texas social services the right to steal the children and then put them up for adoption into so called "normal" families. Children in foster care have a very high incidence of being molested, drugged with psychoactive medicines, and Texas in particular is in bed with the big pharma companies when it comes to children in Foster Care.
As I said before....Give em back!!!
This movie is an expose of the high incidence of foster kids being drugged with toxic mind altering meds while in Foster Care in the state of Texas.
Here is the text of the story:
Abandoning their religion and husbands may be the only way that FLDS mothers will be reunited with their children. Texas official issued new rules, Thursday, that dictate what the mothers will have to do before the state will return the 464 children.
The plan says that the mothers will have to prove that they have provided the children with “a home free of persons who have, or will abuse the children.”
Texas officials consider many polygamist husbands as abusers.
On top of that, Texas officials will have to know every person living in any building where any of the children live. This would make customary polygamist communal housing impossible.
FLDS Attorney, Rod Parker says that “the rules are subject to interpretation by Child Protective Services (CPS) in a manner that makes it impossible for these people to live on the ranch.”
To hammer their point even harder, Texas officials told FLDS communities that if they don’t cooperate, the court could “terminate parental rights” and “appoint a conservator with authority to consent to each child’s adoption.”
“Those terms are going to be defined, ultimately, by Texas CPS, and what Texas CPS says is a safe environment or appropriate education, exclude participation in this religion,” Parker said.
The initial call, that alleged that a 16-year-old girl was beaten and raped by FLDS member Dale Barlow, has never been identified, and is believed by many to have been a prank. Still, authorities are convinced that there is a repeated pattern of abuse on FLDS compounds.
Authorities point out that many of the teenage girls in custody were pregnant, some as young as 13 years old. They also say there is a conspiracy of secrecy within the mothers. They say that FLDS moms will not cooperate with identifying their children.
Authorities also claimed that FLDS boys had signs of broken bones and that they had possibly been sexually abuse as well.
Now, for the first time, the state is talking about lost boys who have allegedly been forced out of the group in order to have more women than men in the community for polygamy.
There are lost boys in Utah, however, Texas cannot name one lost boy.
Officials say that the proof is that there are more 16-to-17-year-old girls than boys.
FLDS attorney, Rod Parker says that Texas is counting 20-to-22-year-old women as underage girls.
“But we know they are counting women as underage girls,” said Parker. “That’s why the ratio is out of whack.”

Freebirth: A Message to Obstetricians from Jenny Hatch, "Physician Heal THYSELF!!"
This video is hosted on My Share Page at One True Media
In the past few months four obstetrics societies have made public statements about Unassisted Childbirth.
The Canadian Doctors (SOGC):
The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC)
The Australian and New Zealand Doctors:
The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
The Royal College (RCOG) in the UK:
The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG)
And in a recent article in the Denver Westword Newspaper (I was interviewed for this story)
A Spokesperson for ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) claimed freebirth was "dangerous".
Childbirth goes solo.
By Jared Jacang Maher
Published: May 10, 2007
"According to the guidelines of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the organization "strongly opposes" any birth not performed inside a hospital. A spokesman for the ACOG has a one-word assessment of freebirth: "dangerous."
I have just one message for these doctors, and it is this:
"The moral of the proverb is counsel to prove your trustworthiness with your own affairs before attempting to tell others what they should do."

Break out of the Matrix!
When the various obstetrics societies PROVE that they have the will to reform themselves internally by setting up standards of care that are more about the mother and the baby than they are about the doctor and staff at the hospital, then I will feel more open about listening to any edicts they have about my lifestyle.
Hey Doctors: why don't you set some goals....
1. No inductions before 41 weeks
2. 10% C-section rate
3. No elective C-sections
4. Full acceptance of Lay and Nurse Midwifery both in the home and at the hospital
5. A Complete and total acceptance of VBAC (Vaginal Birth after Cesarean)
6. A willingness to embrace proper prenatal nutrition as the foundation for a healthy pregnancy as outlined by the Brewer Pregnancy Diet
When society stops locking up our midwives for bogus reasons, embrace and promote natural mothering as the IDEAL for a new baby (Natural Childbirth, Attachment Parenting, and Long Term Ecological Breastfeeding), then I will believe you have found your soul as doctors.
Until then? Well, I am going to continue promoting freebirth and encouraging families to break away from your way of giving birth, because frankly, the way you do it stinks.
Lamaze International has a white paper on Elective cesarean Vs. Vaginal Birth (PDF)

QUOTE:
"Only women themselves can tell us if they are actually demanding cesarean section surgery. With what we are learning from Childbirth Connection today, we now know that women VERY rarely schedule first cesareans by choice without a medical reason," says Susan Hodges, president of Citizens for Midwifery. "Only women can tell us what kind of informed consent process was provided to them. Citizens for Midwifery believes that women are not being given adequate and unbiased information about all the risks and benefits of cesarean sections. Research is needed to understand who and what are now influencing decisions to perform major abdominal surgery 'for no medical reason' despite substantial evidence that all cesareans increase harmful risks for mothers and babies."

HUFFPO: David Kirbys excellent analysis of the recent autism/vaccine case
Click on the image to get to the site where I found this graphic.
I think David Kirby had the best analysis of the whole thing.
and scroll through his comments, really good insights from his readers.
National Autism Association Press Release
Nixa, MO – It was announced that the US Court of Federal Claims and the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program ruled in favor of a child who regressed into autism as a result of vaccinations, several of which contained the mercury-based preservative thimerosal.
Case documents state that the vaccines administered to the claimant significantly aggravated an underlying condition that ultimately led to regressive encephalopathy and symptoms of autism.
According to official court documents, the child was developing normally until given the vaccines, and shortly after the shots, regressed into full autism. The child was diagnosed by nationally recognized autism medical specialists.
For more than a decade, thousands of parents have come forward with reports of sharp regression in their children following immunizations. The cases of autism have dramatically spiked in the past 15 years to as many as 1 in 150 children, making it the leading childhood developmental disorder today.
The National Autism Association (NAA) sees the ruling as confirmation of what so many parents have been saying for years. “This case echoes the stories of thousands of children across the country. With almost 5,000 similar cases pending in vaccine court, we are confident that this is just the first of many that will confirm what we have believed for so long, vaccines can and do cause children to regress into autism,” says Wendy Fournier, parent and president of NAA. “We call on the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to acknowledge that the current vaccine schedule is not safe for every child and as with the administration of any medicine, individual risks and susceptibilities must be considered for each patient.”
David Kirbys whole piece:
After years of insisting there is no evidence to link vaccines with the onset of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), the US government has quietly conceded a vaccine-autism case in the Court of Federal Claims.
The unprecedented concession was filed on November 9, and sealed to protect the plaintiff's identify. It was obtained through individuals unrelated to the case.
The claim, one of 4,900 autism cases currently pending in Federal "Vaccine Court," was conceded by US Assistant Attorney General Peter Keisler and other Justice Department officials, on behalf of the Department of Health and Human Services, the "defendant" in all Vaccine Court cases.
The child's claim against the government -- that mercury-containing vaccines were the cause of her autism -- was supposed to be one of three "test cases" for the thimerosal-autism theory currently under consideration by a three-member panel of Special Masters, the presiding justices in Federal Claims Court.
Keisler wrote that medical personnel at the HHS Division of Vaccine Injury Compensation (DVIC) had reviewed the case and "concluded that compensation is appropriate."
The doctors conceded that the child was healthy and developing normally until her 18-month well-baby visit, when she received vaccinations against nine different diseases all at once (two contained thimerosal).
Days later, the girl began spiraling downward into a cascade of illnesses and setbacks that, within months, presented as symptoms of autism, including: No response to verbal direction; loss of language skills; no eye contact; loss of "relatedness;" insomnia; incessant screaming; arching; and "watching the florescent lights repeatedly during examination."
Seven months after vaccination, the patient was diagnosed by Dr. Andrew Zimmerman, a leading neurologist at the Kennedy Krieger Children's Hospital Neurology Clinic, with "regressive encephalopathy (brain disease) with features consistent with autistic spectrum disorder, following normal development." The girl also met the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) official criteria for autism.
In its written concession, the government said the child had a pre-existing mitochondrial disorder that was "aggravated" by her shots, and which ultimately resulted in an ASD diagnosis.
"The vaccinations received on July 19, 2000, significantly aggravated an underlying mitochondrial disorder," the concession says, "which predisposed her to deficits in cellular energy metabolism, and manifested as a regressive encephalopathy with features of ASD."
This statement is good news for the girl and her family, who will now be compensated for the lifetime of care she will require. But its implications for the larger vaccine-autism debate, and for public health policy in general, are not as certain.
In fact, the government's concession seems to raise more questions than it answers.
1) Is there a connection between vaccines, mitochondrial disorders and a diagnosis of autism, at least in some cases?
Mitochondria, you may recall from biology class, are the little powerhouses within cells that convert food into electrical energy, partly through a complex process called "oxidative phosphorylation." If this process is impaired, mitochondrial disorder will ensue.
The child in this case had several markers for Mt disease, which was confirmed by muscle biopsy. Mt disease is often marked by lethargy, poor muscle tone, poor food digestion and bowel problems, something found in many children diagnosed with autism.
But mitochondrial disorders are rare in the general population, affecting some 2-per-10,000 people (or just 0.2%). So with 4,900 cases filed in Vaccine Court, this case should be the one and only, extremely rare instance of Mt disease in all the autism proceedings.
But it is not.
Mitochondrial disorders are now thought to be the most common disease associated with ASD. Some journal articles and other analyses have estimated that 10% to 20% of all autism cases may involve mitochondrial disorders, which would make them one thousand times more common among people with ASD than the general population.
Another article, published in the Journal of Child Neurology and co-authored by Dr. Zimmerman, showed that 38% of Kennedy Krieger Institute autism patients studied had one marker for impaired oxidative phosphorylation, and 47% had a second marker.
The authors -- who reported on a case-study of the same autism claim conceded in Vaccine Court -- noted that "children who have (mitochondrial-related) dysfunctional cellular energy metabolism might be more prone to undergo autistic regression between 18 and 30 months of age if they also have infections or immunizations at the same time."
An interesting aspect of Mt disease in autism is that, with ASD, the mitochondrial disease seems to be milder than in "classic" cases of Mt disorder. In fact, classic Mt disease is almost always inherited, either passed down by the mother through mitochondrial DNA, or by both parents through nuclear DNA.
In autism-related Mt disease, however, the disorder is not typically found in other family members, and instead appears to be largely of the sporadic variety, which may now account for 75% of all mitochondrial disorders.
Meanwhile, an informal survey of seven families of children with cases currently pending in Vaccine Court revealed that all seven showed markers for mitochondrial dysfunction, dating back to their earliest medical tests. The facts in all seven claims mirror the case just conceded by the government: Normal development followed by vaccination, immediate illness, and rapid decline culminating in an autism diagnosis.
2) With 4,900 cases pending, and more coming, will the government concede those with underlying Mt disease -- and if it not, will the Court award compensation?
The Court will soon begin processing the 4900 cases pending before it. What if 10% to 20% of them can demonstrate the same Mt disease and same set of facts as those in the conceded case? Would the government be obliged to concede 500, or even 1,000 cases? What impact would that have on public opinion? And is there enough money currently in the vaccine injury fund to cover so many settlements?
When asked for a comment last week about the court settlement, a spokesman for HHS furnished the following written statement:
"DVIC has reviewed the scientific information concerning the allegation that vaccines cause autism and has found no credible evidence to support the claim. Accordingly, in every case under the Vaccine Act, DVIC has maintained the position that vaccines do not cause autism, and has never concluded in any case that autism was caused by vaccination."
3) If the government is claiming that vaccines did not "cause" autism, but instead aggravated a condition to "manifest" as autism, isn't that a very fine distinction?
For most affected families, such linguistic gymnastics is not so important. And even if a vaccine injury "manifested" as autism in only one case, isn't that still a significant development worthy of informing the public?
On the other hand, perhaps what the government is claiming is that vaccination resulted in the symptoms of autism, but not in an actual, factually correct diagnosis of autism itself.
4) If the government is claiming that this child does NOT have autism, then how many other children might also have something else that merely "mimics" autism?
Is it possible that 10%-20% of the cases that we now label as "autism," are not autism at all, but rather some previously undefined "look-alike" syndrome that merely presents as "features" of autism?
This question gets to the heart of what autism actually is. The disorder is defined solely as a collection of features, nothing more. If you have the features (and the diagnosis), you have the disorder. The underlying biology is the great unknown.
But let's say the government does determine that these kids don't have actual "autism" (something I speculated on HuffPost a year ago). Then shouldn't the Feds go back and test all people with ASD for impaired oxidative phosphorylation, perhaps reclassifying many of them?
If so, will we then see "autism" cases drop by tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people? Will there be a corresponding ascension of a newly described disorder, perhaps something like "Vaccine Aggravated Mitochondrial Disease with Features of ASD?"
And if this child was technically "misdiagnosed" with DSM-IV autism by Dr Zimmerman, how does he feel about HHS doctors issuing a second opinion re-diagnosis of his patient, whom they presumably had neither met nor examined? (Zimmerman declined an interview).
And along those lines, aren't Bush administration officials somewhat wary of making long-distance, retroactive diagnoses from Washington, given that the Terry Schiavo incident has not yet faded from national memory?
5) Was this child's Mt disease caused by a genetic mutation, as the government implies, and wouldn't that have manifested as "ASD features" anyway?
In the concession, the government notes that the patient had a "single nucleotide change" in the mitochondrial DNA gene T2387C, implying that this was the underlying cause of her manifested "features" of autism.
While it's true that some inherited forms of Mt disease can manifest as developmental delays, (and even ASD in the form of Rhett Syndrome) these forms are linked to identified genetic mutations, of which T2387C is not involved. In fact little, if anything, is known about the function of this particular gene.
What's more, there is no evidence that this girl, prior to vaccination, suffered from any kind of "disorder" at all- genetic, mitochondrial or otherwise. Some forms of Mt disease are so mild that the person is unaware of being affected. This perfectly developing girl may have had Mt disorder at the time of vaccination, but nobody detected, or even suspected it.
And, there is no evidence to suggest that this girl would have regressed into symptoms consistent with a DSM-IV autism diagnosis without her vaccinations. If there was such evidence, then why on earth would these extremely well-funded government attorneys compensate this alleged injury in Vaccine Court? Why wouldn't they move to dismiss, or at least fight the case at trial?
6) What are the implications for research?
The concession raises at least two critical research questions: What are the causes of Mt dysfunction; and how could vaccines aggravate that dysfunction to the point of "autistic features?"
While some Mt disorders are clearly inherited, the "sporadic" form is thought to account for 75% of all cases, according to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation. So what causes sporadic Mt disease? "Medicines or other toxins," says the Cleveland Clinic, a leading authority on the subject.
Use of the AIDS drug AZT, for example, can cause Mt disorders by deleting large segments of mitochondrial DNA. If that is the case, might other exposures to drugs or toxins (i.e., thimerosal, mercury in fish, air pollution, pesticides, live viruses) also cause sporadic Mt disease in certain subsets of children, through similar genotoxic mechanisms?
Among the prime cellular targets of mercury are mitochondria, and thimerosal-induced cell death has been associated with the depolarization of mitochondrial membrane, according to the International Journal of Molecular Medicine among several others. (Coincidently, the first case of Mt disease was diagnosed in 1959, just 15 years after the first autism case was named, and two decades after thimerosal's introduction as a vaccine preservative.)
Regardless of its cause, shouldn't HHS sponsor research into Mt disease and the biological mechanisms by which vaccines could aggravate the disorder? We still do not know what it was, exactly, about this girl's vaccines that aggravated her condition. Was it the thimerosal? The three live viruses? The two attenuated viruses? Other ingredients like aluminum? A combination of the above?
And of course, if vaccine injuries can aggravate Mt disease to the point of manifesting as autism features, then what other underlying disorders or conditions (genetic, autoimmune, allergic, etc.) might also be aggravated to the same extent?
7) What are the implications for medicine and public health?
Should the government develop and approve new treatments for "aggravated mitochondrial disease with ASD features?" Interestingly, many of the treatments currently deployed in Mt disease (i.e., coenzyme Q10, vitamin B-12, lipoic acid, biotin, dietary changes, etc.) are part of the alternative treatment regimen that many parents use on their children with ASD.
And, if a significant minority of autism cases can be linked to Mt disease and vaccines, shouldn't these products one day carry an FDA Black Box warning label, and shouldn't children with Mt disorders be exempt from mandatory immunization?
8) What are the implications for the vaccine-autism debate?
It's too early to tell. But this concession could conceivably make it more difficult for some officials to continue insisting there is "absolutely no link" between vaccines and autism.
It also puts the Federal Government's Vaccine Court defense strategy somewhat into jeopardy. DOJ lawyers and witnesses have argued that autism is genetic, with no evidence to support an environmental component. And, they insist, it's simply impossible to construct a chain of events linking immunizations to the disorder.
Government officials may need to rethink their legal strategy, as well as their public relations campaigns, given their own slightly contradictory concession in this case.
9) What is the bottom line here?
The public, (including world leaders) will demand to know what is going on inside the US Federal health establishment. Yes, as of now, n=1, a solitary vaccine-autism concession. But what if n=10% or 20%? Who will pay to clean up that mess?
The significance of this concession will unfortunately be fought over in the usual, vitriolic way -- and I fully expect to be slammed for even raising these questions. Despite that, the language of this concession cannot be changed, or swept away.
Its key words are "aggravated" and "manifested." Without the aggravation of the vaccines, it is uncertain that the manifestation would have occurred at all.
When a kid with peanut allergy eats a peanut and dies, we don't say "his underlying metabolic condition was significantly aggravated to the extent of manifesting as an anaphylactic shock with features of death."
No, we say the peanut killed the poor boy. Remove the peanut from the equation, and he would still be with us today.
Many people look forward to hearing more from HHS officials about why they are settling this claim. But whatever their explanation, they cannot change the fundamental facts of this extraordinary case:
The United State government is compensating at least one child for vaccine injuries that resulted in a diagnosis of autism."
And that is big news, no matter how you want to say it.
NOTE: Full text of the government's statement is posted here.

Saturday Night Live: Annuale
Paul watched this episode live and after he saw this ad, came downstairs and said "Jen, you HAVE to watch this spoof on drugs on SNL." We went up to our room and I rewound the DVR. I kid you not dear reader, I was rolling on my bed laughing, crying, literal tears coming out of my eyes. The women of SNL have truly nailed it this time!
New York Times review of this skit
"At a time when the drug industry is facing increasing scrutiny from Congress and the public, the cast of “Saturday Night Live” has weighed in with a hilarious spoof of television drug ads.
The “commercial,” modeled after the real advertising campaign for the birth control pill Seasonale, touts a fake pill, Annuale. The spoof uses similar pill packaging, actors and even the same pink chairs, sneakers and yoga mats depicted in the real ad. Watch the video, posted below, for the over-the-top punchline. One of the funniest lines is in the list of “side effects” that rolls across the screen at the end of the ad.
“Do not take Annuale if you plan to ever become pregnant, as it may turn your baby into a firemonster,'’ the ad says. “In the days around your period, you may develop a leathery tail.'’
The send-up comes at a time of increasing scrutiny of the estimated $5 billion that pharmaceutical giants spend on drug ads aimed at consumers."

Fox news gets it right, most of the time.....
I'm still a little PO'd at Fox news for the way they have been treating Ron Paul, and the fact that they seem to think he recently fell off the planet (but so does the rest of the media),
but they did get this story right, or at least Douglas Kennedy got it right....
Only question is....which one? Prozac? Paxil? Zoloft? Celexa? Seraquil? Lexapro? Effexor? Esipram? Cymbalta? Risperdal?
UPDATE: It was Prozac!!!
QUOTE:
"Baty said he saw a psychiatrist monthly but stopped taking Prozac a few weeks ago. She said the medicine "made him feel like a zombie."
But Baty said that recently he was "a little quicker to get annoyed."
This story they did NOT get right, because, well, it was killed by Monsanto....really interesting testimonial from two Fox News Whistleblowers.

Psychiatric frauds continue to be exposed!
This morning I received an Email from Ann Blake Tracy at the Center for Drug Awareness. She told me about this new Fox News report by Douglas Kennedy.
Here is a link to the article in the Wall Street Journal mentioned in the piece.
Then later in the morning I was flipping channels and watched this scientology hit job on EXTRA, can't find the video yet, but I have watched so many of these the past few years, you know the sort, using every television trick possible to make Scientology and anyone who believes in it to be a nut job or worse. It always cracks me up to watch these shows and then see the commercials come on....the little Zoloft bubble, etc...They should just say at the beginning of the show, This segment brought to you by Eli Lily.
Anyway, here is a video of Cruise talking to Matt Lauer about Psychiatry. I completely endorse and applaud him for his education, passion, and willingness to take on this most powerful entity.
My regular readers know that I suffered a post partum psychosis after the birth of my first baby and then was hospitalized for six weeks. I was court ordered to eat psychiatric meds for fourteen months, and in the past 18 years I have given birth to four additional children and have not taken one pill for mental illness. Alternative healing restored my brain and has given me a measure of wellness that I once believed would be impossible to achieve.
Here is a link to an article I wrote a couple of years ago about Alternative remedies for Post Partum Depression and Psychosis.
Tom Cruise is right about Psychiatry:
Although psychiatry is the smallest faction within the health care industry, authorities have estimated that psychiatric fraud accounts for 20 percent of fraudulent health care claims paid annually. This places the annual cost of psychiatric fraud in the tens of billions, ranging up to $40 billion per year, as described at the start of this article.
Investigators routinely find psychiatrists responsible for a disproportionate share of the fraud and corruption within the health care industry.
As far back as 1985, a U.S. Justice Department probe found that while psychiatrists represented only 8 percent of the physicians in the country, they accounted for 18 percent of the crooked doctors suspended from Medicaid programs over a 15-year period -- the worst performance of any group in the medical field.
Crimes included charging for therapy when they had only doled out drugs; billing for patients who did not exist; falsely billing for up to 24 hours of therapy per day; and having sex with patients and billing the government for their lust.
Florida Medicare investigators found that 40 percent of all mental health outpatient service billings in 1994 were fraudulent.
And if fines collected by the federal government are an index, psychiatry is responsible for nearly 90 percent of the health care fraud in the United States. Of the $411 million paid in health-care-related fines in 1994, $379 million were paid by psychiatric hospitals.
Dr. Jeffrey Schaler on Psychiatry as a Fraud
Actor Tom Cruise created quite a stir on June 25 when he called psychiatry a "pseudoscience," asserted a chemical basis for Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder doesn't exist, and said that anti-depressant drugs masked problems-in-living. He used the actress Brooke Shields as a case in point, citing her postpartum depression, engendering a fair amount of hostility from those who disagreed with him, including Ms. Shields. The New York Times published her rejoinder on July 1. Cruise was criticized by psychiatric apologists and sycophants as irresponsible and dangerous for speaking his mind -- and the truth.
A lot of people seem to have misunderstood what Tom Cruise said. It is not necessarily the case that he's a Scientology-brainwashed wacko, or that his ideas about psychiatry even came from the Church of Scientology. Cruise learned a lot about psychiatry from the writings of psychiatric abolitionist Thomas Szasz. Throughout the world, Szasz is considered an intellectual heavyweight, someone whose ideas about medicine, disease, science, liberty and responsibility should be taken seriously.

WND: 8 more deaths connected to HPV Vaccine - Go Merck Go!
Free Republic thread on this topic
In the fight against cervical cancer, Merck is overwhelmingly winning the war against cancer.
Eight girls who were injected with that nasty cocktail of chemicals NEVER have to worry about getting that form of CANCER.
Why?
Because they are DEAD!!!
Anyone checked recently to see how much money Merck has made off the pelvic goldmine around this current vaccine scam? I'm too lazy to go look it up....but I think we can safely guess it is in the hundreds of millions.
QUOTE:
"Judicial Watch said it obtained documents from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration under the Freedom of Information Act detailing the new 1,824 cases.
Those cases include as many as eight deaths related to the vaccine, on top of the three deaths reported earlier among 1,637 earlier reports of adverse effects."
It is hard for me to understand, but they are giving this junk to PREGNANT women:
...The flood of adverse reactions during 2007 reported to the FDA through the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, included 347 serious reactions.
"Of the 77 women who received the vaccine while pregnant, 33 experienced side effects ranging from spontaneous abortion to fetal abnormities. Other serious side effects continue to be reported including, paralysis, Bells Palsy, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, and seizures," Judicial Watch said.
And these numbers may not even include all the cases, Judicial Watch said. It filed a lawsuit this week against the FDA for failing to fully respond to its requests for information involving the vaccine.
Specifically Judicial Watch wanted access to correspondence between Merck and the FDA regarding the vaccine, communications between the FDA and GlaxoSmithKline, which is working on a similar vaccine, called Cervarix, and reports by consumers, health professionals and others regarding problems with the HPV vaccine.
When the organization's investigation into the HPV vaccine issue arose, and the first reports starting coming in, Fitton described it as "a catalog of horrors."
One earlier report, No. 275438-1, describes the reaction as coronary artery thrombosis, sudden cardiac death. "Given Gardasil vaccine dose #1 3/12/07. Collapsed and died on 3/26/07… Echocardiogram revealed very enlarged right ventricle, small left ventricle as well as large blood clots within both the right atrium & right ventricle."
Another report noted that the woman was vaccinated and "died of a blood clot 8 hours after getting the Gardasil vaccine."
Officials with the Abstinence Clearinghouse noted in a position paper that groups including the Texas Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Academy of Environmental Medicine have come out publicly against mandatory vaccination.
"The reasoning of these medical associations is clear. They are not opposed to medical progress, and certainly support all efforts to combat life-threatening diseases. The problem, as these organizations see it, lies in the fact that the drug only went through three and a half years of testing, leaving the medical community somewhat in the dark as to what serious adverse effects might result in the long term," the group said.
"Along with the potential of serious adverse effects is the question of efficacy. There is evidence that after approximately four years, the vaccine's potency significantly declines. The long-term value of the vaccine has yet to be determined; if it wears off within six years, will girls and women need to repeat the battery of injections they originally received?" the organization wondered.
Michigan was the first state to introduce a plan to require the vaccine to be given to young girls, but the proposal failed. Ohio also considered a failed plan in 2006.
Then in 2007, after Merck's aggressive lobbying campaign and contributions to Women in Government, lawmakers in at least 39 states and the District of Columbia worked on sponsoring such plans."
Oh, the wheels of government just roll with the grease from Big Pharma!!!
How many young innocent girls will get squashed as that freight train rolls along???
We are at eight....and counting.....
Go Merck GO!!!
With one of the biggest, most expensive, rollouts in history....this guardasil could easily be called GIRLSweKILL.
Hey Politicians....does anybody give a rodents behind that innocent young women are being murdered by yet another bogus pharmaceutical product that they moved heaven and earth to FORCE us parents to give to our children???
The FREE market means that consumers are FREE to purchase those products and services they believe will help and heal children, not kill or permanently maim them with government nannies waiting in the wings to bully them into it.
Hey Merck, take you dope and shove it where the sun don't shine.
Vaccines are very much tied to Eugenics. Alex Jones movie Endgame has a complete overview of the agendas and goals of those who are pushing these toxins on our children. Here is a You Tube Clip from his movie.

Anti Depressants Kill Too!
In 2002, Fox National News reported Douglas Kennedy exposed the link between
psychiatric drugs and school shootings.
In September 2005, following confirmation that Red Lake Indian Reservation
school shooter, Jeff Weise, was under the influence of the antidepressant
Prozac, the National Foundation of Women Legislators, together with American
Indian tribal leaders, called for a Congressional investigation into the
correlation between psychiatric drug use and school massacres. Congress has yet to investigate the role of psychiatric drugs relating to school shootings despite international drug regulators warning these drugs
can cause mania, psychosis, hallucinations, suicide and homicidal ideation.
At least eight of the recent school shooters were under the influence of such drugs, and according to media reports, investigators working on the Virginia Tech school shootings, Cho Seung-Hui may also have been taking
drugs for "depression."

Life Site News: Deaths Associated with HPV Vaccine Start Rolling In, Over 3500 Adverse Affects Reported
Boy, that was quick. I wonder how many of our young girls will have to die of blood clots and heart problems around this vaccine before it gets pulled from the market......
but hey....they won't get cervical cancer. My teen daughters did not get this vaccine. No, Paul and I have taught them that if they want to prevent the sexually transmitted diseases associated with pre marital sexual activity, they must stay chaste until marriage. They have both set the goal to stay pure.

SF Gate: Adult Psychiatric Drug OK'd for Kids
Adult Psychiatric Drug OK'd for Kids

"The Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday approved a widely used adult psychiatric drug for the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in children and adolescents.
The action permits use of Risperdal for schizophrenia in youths aged 13 to 17 and for bipolar disorder in those aged 10 to 17, FDA said.
It was approved last fall for treatment of irritability in autism.
Risperdal, manufactured by Janssen, L.P. of Titusville, N.J., is the No. 3 anti-psychotic drug, with $2.3 billion in sales in 2005, according to the pharmaceutical data company IMS Health. Janssen is a unit of Johnson & Johnson.
Risperdal was approved for use in adults in 1993.
Until now, FDA said, there has been no approved drug for the treatment of schizophrenia in youths and only lithium is approved for the treatment of bipolar disorder in adolescents.
The dose approved for youths is slightly lower than the adult dose, FDA said.
Drowsiness, fatigue, increase in appetite, anxiety, nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, tremor, and rash were among the most common side effects reported, the agency said."
Most common Risperdal Side Effects:
Abdominal pain
Vomiting
Constipation
Diarrhea
Dry mouth
Sore throat
Abnormal walk
Agitation
Aggression
Anxiety
Chest pain
Coughing
Involuntary movements
Nasal inflammation
Decreased activity
Decreased sexual desires
Lack of coordination
Impotence
Dizziness
Dry skin
Difficulty urinating
Heavy menstruation
Tremor
Weight gain
Lethargic feelings
Join pain
Difficulty ejaculating
Tremor
Respiratory infection
Some Risperdal patients may want to consider alternate treatment methods due to the evidence of increased risk and lack of adequate safety studies.

Those Risperdal Legos are really something. Does that mean the child who is about to be treated is sent the message, "Hey, taking psychiatric meds is sort of like playing with Legos, see how fun it is to take our pills!!! Just like playing with your toys!!!"
Good job Big Pharma Drug Pushers. Why not put the drug in a lolly pop and sell it with helium baloons? And give away a Barney Video with each sale? "I love you, you love me, we're a druggy family!!! With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you....won't you take my drugs instead of sue?"
Sue, as in lawsuit for pushing yet another toxic chemical on the children of America.
Sick, very very sick.

THE ELECTRIC SHOCKS MACHINE MANUFACTURER WAS A PSYCHIATRY PROFESSOR
THE ELECTRIC SHOCKS MACHINE MANUFACTURER WAS A PSYCHIATRY PROFESSOR
"When medical students learn about shock therapy, they turn to the only textbook on the subject: Electroconvulsive Therapy, published by Oxford University Press. Richard Abrams, a professor of psychiatry at the Chicago Medical School, writes that shock therapy is proven safe and effective for depression and other problems, even in children and the elderly.
He advises that shock should be considered as the first treatment given, not as the last resort. He concludes with an attack on doctors who criticize shock treatment and attaches a form to have patients sign when they consent to shock therapy.
But Abrams doesn't tell the medical students one thing: He owns Somatics Inc., one of the nation's two shock machine manufacturers.
He didn't tell his publisher, either.
"Wow," says Joan Bossert, executive editor of Oxford University Press. "I did not know that." She would have had him disclose that in the book's preface, she says. "I really wish he'd told us, but it doesn't take away from his expertise," she says. Neither did Abrams disclose his financial interest in the academic journal Psychiatric Clinics in September 1994, when he wrote an upbeat article on shock titled, "The Treatment That Will Not Die."
In some recent articles, Abrams disclosed that he's a "director" of Somatics. But readers weren't told that he is also president and owns the company with shock researcher Conrad Swartz, a University of South Carolina psychiatry professor.
Abrams says it's ridiculous to think his ownership of a shock machine company may create a conflict of interest."

TESTIMONY OF JOHN M. FRIEDBERG, M.D., NEUROLOGIST, BEFORE THE MENTAL HEALTH COMMITTEE OF THE NEW YORK STATE ASSEMBLY
"My name is John Friedberg. I am a board certified neurologist practicing in Berkeley, California.
I was born in Far Rockaway (NYC) in 1942, graduated Lawrence High School, Yale University and the University of Rochester School of Medicine and for the past twenty years I’ve been seeing patients with every conceivable neurologic problem, from headaches to Huntington’s, in my office and in hospitals.
I am in good standing with my hospitals, professional societies and licensing boards and I’m proud to say I’ve never been successfully sued.
In 1975 I published my book “Shock Treatment Is Not Good For Your Brain” and in 1979 “Shock Treatment, Brain Damage and Memory Loss,” a peer reviewed article in the American Journal of Psychiatry.
I do not believe in mental illness. Depression is no more “the same as diabetes” than heartbreak is the same as a heart attack.
I do not believe in hypothetical diseases of the mind but there is no mistaking damage to the brain. Psychiatric drugs and electroshock inflict real injury in the name of treating fictive maladies. Paul Henri Thomas has Tardive Dyskinesia and heptatitis from psychiatric drugs and amnesia from the ECT.
.....ECT isn’t back - it never went away. It’s more common than appendectomy.
What has happened is that it’s advocates have grown more arrogant and the number of patients forced to undergo ECT against their will is increasing.
This was brought to public attention by Paul Henri Thomas fighting for his life and his mind at Pilgrim State Hospital on Long Island. Over the past two years he has been subjected to 60 shocks and a judge just ordered up 40 more. The newspapers state the Mr. Thomas was born in Haiti, emigrated from oppression and was granted American citizenship.
To be held down, drugged and forcibly administered convulsive dose after convulsive dose of electroshock to the head: can anyone think of a greater assault on a human being’s rights - short of death - in the whole world? And it’s happening here in the land of the free. That’s not acceptable.
We have had 60 years of poignant testimony from eloquent victims of electroshock. Ernest Hemingway complained it ruined his memory and put him out of business. He killed himself within weeks of concluding a second course of ECT. George Orwell ends 1984 with his protagonist being forced to love Big Brother on an electroshock table.
I urge you to declare a moratorium on electroconvulsive therapy until it can be proven safe by evidence, not proclamation.
I urge you to declare a moratorium on electroconvulsive therapy until patients can be guaranteed free and informed choice.
Thank you."
Electroshock is being increasingly used around the country to "treat" the mentally ill.

HOW PSYCHIATRY IS MAKING DRUG ADDICTS OUT OF AMERICA'S SCHOOL CHILDREN
HOW PSYCHIATRY IS MAKING DRUG ADDICTS OUT OF AMERICA'S SCHOOL CHILDREN
Dennis H. Clarke
"You will learn that one of the most commonly prescribed drugs for children in America is chemically and neurologically equivalent to cocain in its effects on the human body. You will no doubt find this information startling. We have also found it so.
It is not always easy to confront evil. Nonetheless, the evil being done to millions of children in America needs to be confronted and ended, no matter who stands behind or profits from the evil deed of making drug addicts out of America's children."
This paper was written in 1995, over 12 years ago, and things have only gotten worse in America.
Parents, Please get into natural family living and stop the drugging of children!

Scientists link diabetes drugs to heart failure
The American Cycle of Botched, depressing birth, followed by raging depression, followed by anti-depressant use, followed by the pancreas being destroyed by those chemicals, followed by debilitating life long diabetes, followed by heart disease and/or manic depression is being played out in many many peoples lives.
If we go back to nature and trust birth works and then welcome the babes holistically, the cycle can be turned around from disease and disability to ecstatic joy and functionality.

Telegraph: Ritalin poses child crime risk
Ritalin poses child crime risk
CHILDREN who use Ritalin for a long period of time could be more at risk of delinquency and substance abuse, a study has found.
"Doctors are suggesting children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) should take a break from medication after three years of use.
An American study - published in the Medical Observer _ has found that while drugs such as Ritalin can initially help sufferers, the benefit of prolonged use is in doubt.
Some children stay on medication until they reach 18, but researchers believe it may not protect them from all the symptoms.
Has your child been adversely affected by ADHD medication? Tell us your experience via feedback section below.
The US Multimodal Treatment Study of Children revealed the more days of prescribed medication, the more serious delinquency became.
In a cohort of 500 children with ADHD - followed for 36 months until they were 12 - researchers found 27 per cent were at a greater risk of committing crime, compared with 7 per cent among "normative" children.
Substance use also increased to 17 per cent in ADHD children - almost double the normal rate.
More than 30,000 children in Australia take Ritalin or a similar drug.
Jill Sewell, Associate Professor of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, said evidence suggested a break from medication was beneficial.
"Evidence shows that there is very clear benefit of taking medication for 12-18 months, but after three years it is not so clear," she said.
"Often in medications you do have to stop for a period of time to see if it is still effective."

WAPO: Shock Value
Shock Value - Electroconvulsive therapy on the upswing.
"The number of treatments in California -- one of the few states that have mandatory reporting -- increased from about 13,000 to more than 20,000 between 1994 and 2004. Although the District, Maryland and Virginia do not require such reporting, Johns Hopkins Hospital treats about 125 people with ECT annually, a number that has not changed much recently, according to Irving Reti, head of Hopkins's ECT unit; at Sheppard Pratt outside Baltimore, ECT physician Jack Vaeth says his service does about 60 treatments a week, an increase over the past decade.
While no one fully understands why ECT works, many psychiatrists believe that using an electric current to produce a "grand mal" -- or generalized brain -- seizure can "reboot" the brain when medications and psychotherapy fail. Just last week, a commentary in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) suggested that, despite its demonstrated effectiveness, ECT remains underused, primarily because of its stigmatized history."
Stigmatized history? Or the fact that it erases the memories of those who use it???
Sure you are not depressed anymore, we just turned your brain to mush and gellied up your tissues. You can't even remember who you are!!! But it was worth it because you are not depressed!!! What a load, this treatment should be BANNED!!!
I remember telling one of my therapists a few years ago that electroshock was on the upswing and he told me that I was wrong, it had been banned worldwide because it was ineffective. But the psychiatrists just keep on keepin on with failed treatments. Makes lots of money and shuts up those awful patients.
Wether you get a surgical lobotomy (which are also on the upswing, they just changed the name to cingulotomy, a chemical Lobotomy, or an electro lobotomy, the effect on the brain is the same. Major amounts of brain damage.
Recently a somewhat honest hearted psychiatrist made some public comments about his profession.
He said:
A Psychiatrist Airs His Professional Doubts
"Did you ever stop to wonder or ask yourself 'what am I doing?' I did and in many ways I wish I had not. As a Psychiatrist, I still do not know what our profession is trying to do. It seems we have a series of solutions and now we are trying to find the problems that they can solve. My observations are either anecdotal or part of research that I have done as a Psychiatric Auditor and are based on my 38 years experience in the field of Psychiatry.
Psychiatrists are treating two major populations: Adults and Juveniles. These populations are further subdivided into severe and mild disturbances.
I am not a Juvenile Psychiatrist, but I speak from impressions and my readings in the field. There is nothing more heart breaking than the severely mentally ill juvenile. We have increased our arsenal of medications, but in results and understanding, compared to other medical professions, our success rate is poor. Prevention is a distant dream.
The mildly mentally ill juveniles are a cause of concern to me. Psychiatry has waltzed into learning disorders with the crusading gusto that only psychiatrists seem to have. We are witnessing the 'medicinization' of a former outlawed drug. The criteria for using Ritalin far too often go unmet. There is no doubt in my mind that children that would not be given Ritalin by experts in the field are receiving it. No one can say with honesty and certainty what the effect of Ritalin use in juveniles will have on their brains as they age. Yet the Ritalin pushers have an almost messianic fervor for their 'solution'.
In the adult population, generally speaking, the influence of the Drug Companies is terrifying. Very few research projects disprove the efficacy of a drug when the trial is sponsored by the drug's manufacturer. Harmful facts that may be discovered are not disclosed. When they are, their importance and significance are downplayed. For example, one of the major, popular, new anti psychotic drugs actively and substantially increases the risk factors for heart attacks or CVAs. In all the adult population the major medical goal is to reduce these risk factors. Only severely mentally ill psychiatric patients are the exception.
It has been shown that after 10 years of illness a psychotic not taking medications is four times more likely to be symptom free than one that is taking medications. Read that again. You would expect the complete opposite. In spite of the hype, the quality of life in patients using the older medications are better than the new. So we are paying more, endangering more and getting less. Not very impressive is it?"
I appreciate his honesty, and wish more psychiatrists had the guts to do some introspection, you would think they would be the most honest in terms of "ANALYZING" themselves as a profession. But no, fearfully and sadly, many do not take the time to question all of the drug reps in the office, the perks, and the money rolling in earned off the tortured minds of the mentally ill. Here is a critique I wrote of a very pompous edict from the President of the APA a couple of years ago. He was publicly questioning certain practices in the profession.
I am a perfect example of someone who has healed holisticaly after psychosis. I had a post partum psychosis after the birth of my first babe, and was forced by the courts to take toxic drugs for 14 months. Then I went completely the other direction and used Sunriders Chinese Herbs, Nutrition, Shaklee Foods, and spent thousands of hours reading about the history of psychiatry, and quickly rea
